Fans of X Factor have been just as transfixed by the unspoken battle taking place each week on the X Factor.
And for the most part, Dannii Minogue has reigned supreme in the style wars, trumping fellow judge Cheryl Cole week after week.
And the 39-year-old has done it again, dazzling in a ladylike red dress at today's X Factor press conference in London.
Dannii looked radiant as she posed for photographers with her finalist Matt Cardle at the Connaught Hotel.
The shocking red frock was teamed with a sleek bob and nude platform pumps.

Meanwhile Cheryl Cole, who - despite having two stylists - has lagged behind in the style stakes this series, missed the mark in a rocker-inspired ensemble.
The 27-year-old judge wore leather trousers and a quilted leather jacket over a shimmering jumper and Alexander Wang open-toe heels.

Cheryl was joined by 'her girls,' Rebecca Ferguson and Cher Lloyd at the press conference, after travelling to each other their home towns this week to film scenes for the show.
Rebecca, 24, was typically stylish in a black bejeweled dress and stockings, while 17-year-old Cher wore a pink hoodie, black jeans and grey heeled sheepskin boots.

The last hurrah: The X Factpr finalists take their seats with their mentors as they speak to the press and reveal details about this weekend's final
Cher is to team up with Cheryl Cole's pal Will.i.am in one of a number of mouth-watering duets for The X Factor final.
The teenage 'mini Cheryl' will sing with the Black Eyed Peas frontman on this weekend's show. But Cher, who bookmakers have made the favourite to leave first, admitted she did not expect to win.

She said: 'I know I'm not going to win. Come on, I'm the rapper.'
Robbie Williams will join boyband One Direction for a duet, while R&B;'s hottest property Rihanna will join forces with show hunk Matt Cardle.

Powerhouse diva and Burlesque star Christina Aguilera will team up with shy Liverpudlian Rebecca Ferguson.
At a press conference in London, where details of the final were revealed, X Factor judge Louis Walsh said he wanted Rebecca to win, while Simon Cowell backed his remaining act, One Direction.

Cheryl, who is mentor to Cher and Rebecca, said: 'I think I've got two very, very special girls and it's not about me winning, it's about them winning.'
Simon also batted away controversy about this year's series. The ITV1 talent search has continued to attract millions of viewers but has been hit by claims of fixes and controversy over the use of auto-tuning technology.

Simon said: 'We welcome any investigation by Ofcom. I don't want this to be the goody-goody show and pretend we are nice people because we are not. We work in the music business.'
The act with the fewest public votes will be kicked off on Saturday night, leaving three finalists to perform on Sunday when the winner is announced.
Cowell, 51, had been in talks with iconic superstar Prince to appear on the final, his demands were said to be ‘outrageous’.
While One Direction, Matt, Cher and Rebecca were at the press conference today all of this year's rejected finalists returned to the studio to rehearse for the big spectacle on Saturday night.
Rebecca tweeted before leaving for the Connaught: 'So nice to see old faces here in studio today.'
Katie Waissel, Treyc Cohen and Paije Richardson enjoyed lunch together near Wembley while the others attended the news conference.
