Hmmm. I was fully convinced that dethmaShine was being totally sarcastic with his posts. Seemed obvious to me.
But I see that 5 other posters don't think so. Those are some pretty big odds...5/1...am I really right?

I've read the post over again and if that was sarcasm, he's bad at it and should stop. Sarcasm on forums is bad form to begin with, the medium does not convey the emphasis appropriately.
Regardless, there are people that believe EXACTLY what he was extolling and they're sadly the sheep that marketting of the Android manufacturers have captured.

Those numbers are sweet but I would like to see a breakdown of each model. Also the market worldwide if im not mistaken is growing at what 10% a year yet Apples desk tops grew at 4%? If so why?

I buy very, very few $1.29 songs, but I've bought much less music from itunes since that price went into effect.
I really hope this does push Apple into cutting their prices back down to .99 and cheaper. I do not know anything about digital rights etc., but I do know that the higher price tier made me retreat from iTunes pretty quick.

Jesus, not keen on the cartoon look. The animations and fluidness - yes, more please. Cartoon-like interface - no thanks.
Why don't they make all the UI the SAME?! They seem to like having every app a little different. Different Toolbar/right click on dock/window's surrounds/window manipulation. Just make everything the damn same please.

Finally Apple are back from those awful tanking sales G4 years, though will they ever break through that 5% glass ceiling?
I think so -- and soon. Look at the sales of the MacBooks, and they came very late in the quarter! So now we have a full quarter of MacBook sales, PLUS Mac Pros. Not to mention possible iMac and MacBook Pro updates to Core 2 Duo this quarter.
I say we will hit 5% next quarter. Apple is well on its way to being in the Top 3 as far as US marketshare! :)

My guess is that it'll be upwards of $70. Which is way too much to pay for a mouse. Like someone else posted earlier, I'm still kind of shocked that I paid $50 for my regular Mighty Mouse. Though I do think it's the bees knees.

I am mentally jumping for joy!
My newest computer is a 17" 2006 iMac. I play (some of) the latest PC games, I develop games and I edit trailers/other mid-high endery stuff. My iMac is a beast for getting through this far but it's starting to really show its age.
As soon as the new models are out you can consider a 27" bought. Words can't express how much I'm looking forward to this.
Looking forward to owning my first glossy display too. I imagine it's beautiful for photo editing+gaming.

The dropped calls are the dealbreaker. I love my iPhone but it just doesn't perform at anything approaching an acceptable level.
Missed calls. Dropped calls. Missing voicemails. 3 day late voicemails. There are consequences these days of having a communication device that behaves randomly. You trust it when you shouldn't and it costs you business and makes you look unreliable.
Most of this is ATT's fault, but frankly the phone has attributes that are Apple's fault, like the volume level. In any case it has to be a good phone first and it is not. The network is the phone, and the network sucks.
Hope I get enough on Ebay to buy an iPod touch.

I think Apple intentionally borked our current 320M graphic power in the 10.6.7 release fiasco. This was intentional. That way when they release the new MBA's with the inferior integrated graphics chipset, they can actually show an IMPROVEMENT in graphic speed.

I tried the MM that came with my last computer, and I thought it sucked. Steve Jobs is brilliant, but also stubborn. He didn't want to make a 2 button mouse, so he found a way to make a mouse that didn't actually have 2 buttons, but could work like it did. I have a Logictech that works amazingly. It's comfortable, and I can do everything really fast and easy. I think most people that do/will buy the MM, do so because it's Apple.

Just like quitting smoking is dead easy for some people but really difficult for others? My gran after 50+ years of chain smoking just simply stopped. She says she had no problem, just didn't feel like spending to money anymore. I smoke about 5 cigs a day since the age of 13 and still struggling to quit.
IMHO it is all about desire and willpower. I, too, smoked from the time I was 13, and did it for 25 years. I tried to quit many times, and mostly just got hooked on nicotine gum/lozenges instead for a few months at a time. Finally, a few years ago, the motivation and environment matched up and I said "screw this." Smoke-free ever since, and while I will probably always be super-sensitive to the smell of a nice burning tobacco leaf, I really am done with it. Good luck with your own battle.
Similar to the situation with the 30,000 calorie lady, I don't care if people smoke or not. You know it's unhealthy; it's your right to be that way. It's none of my business... until it starts affecting me, via pitching in for your eventual treatment or having butts thrown at me or onto my property.
