Apple today released iOS 4.3.2, bringing several minor fixes and improvements to Apple's operating system for mobile devices. The build number is 8H7 for the majority of devices, with the CDMA iPad 2 receiving Build 8H8. Heh heh...yeah me too. Maybe that's what The Steve (tm) was referring to when he said that '07 was going to be one of the most exciting years for Apple yet.
Or it could just be a new colour range for the iPod nanos.
I don't think Apple will come out with a "consumer" tower for the foreseeable future. I think Apple's strategy is to make "consumer" products like the Mini which are made to look more like consumer electronic devices (e.g. look like a stereo or DVD players). A tower just does not fit that category. Apple makes the Mac Pro for professionals that will actually put in a specialized video or audio card for their *professional* work. And yes, a consumer like a gamer might want that expandability just so they can get the latest and greatest gaming video card, but Apple is *not* going to aim for that category anytime soon because: 1) it's a small fraction of the market compared to the overall consumer market, and 2) the PC owns the gaming market. And why would Apple want to go for the PC gaming market anyway? A disproportionate amount of gamers just build "white box" computers so they can optimize everything to their liking for the lowest cost, and that's *definitely* not Apple's market.

Thanks for calling me a liar. My date moved, without explanation, as quoted in the story. The only thing I can personally think of is dropping a third line from the family plan. Other than that, and thanks to autopay, my bill for the remaining two iPhones on the plan is rather expensive, and always paid in full and on time, so the other argument is invalid as well.

I don't know, it's been on all aluminum models since 2003. After all these years Apple decided no one really wanted it? (A lot of people on these forums obviously wouldn't agree with that).
To save battery life? You can turn it off if you want. Problem solved.
The other models most obviously have more room for it. The Macbook Air doesn't, and Apple probably decided it wasn't worth bothering with for this model. For the other models with a lot more space, no reason not to if the space is there. But once you run into space constraints it is pretty easy to peg as one of the first things to be cut out.

Hopefully the ifixit teardown will reveal if there is a 2nd bay accessible for manually adding an SSD if I choose the 1TB option, I want to just put a 128GB or even a 64GB SSD just for applications and the system and store music/movies/photos/docs on the 1TB. I have my windows desktop setup this way with a 64GB and it is wonderful, I don't want to pay $600 to get a 256GB SSD plus 1TB.

Steve already knew this was going to happen. They're ready. I don't think it's possible to have an iPod killer anyways. The iPod is all about appeal for many, not necessarily the features.

More RAM for my Mac Pro as well as 2 * 500GB HDDs to fill up some of its internal bays, as well as a Snowboarder and just to keep my vintage Mac collection going, Id love a PowerMac G5 with a nice 22/23" ADC Cinema Display... (this also includes my 18th Birthday presents since Im at Uni, so wont be getting my presents for a little while)

I see some sort of conversion of these rumors, and a clear indication that the big screen virtual interface thing might be feasible, but really... all the rumors are getting a bit much, next thing the ipod will be a all purpose video edeting aplience called the... macbook! :p

this sounds very interesting and futuristic. i wonder how you click, or make a selection. it would be pointless if you could scroll wothout touching the screen, but had to touch it in order to click on the scroll wheel.
im excited though! sounds cool!
I can see how simple gestures could be recognized as the various clicks that you would normally do, so I don't think this would be an issue.
