There's an old saying, " What good is the hardware without the software?" ;)
You have an evil avatar :) I was trying to squash the bug for a few seconds before I realized that it was a gif.
I hate it when bugs crawl on my screen.

I'm probably in the minority (that's OK) but it doesn't bother me at all to connect my iPhone to my laptop to update it.

I love my pre classic 80 gig video iPod and would like te replace it with a classic whenever it dies.
Also Apple should shift to selling videoclips instead of songs. Cover art is so very old fashion ...

I completely agree. It would be a big surprise to me that any method of connecting to an OS X Mac would allow it to be controlled without specific permissions granted by the administrator account, suggesting these guys left the account open on purpose or allowed remote access with the password known. In other words, once you access the computer you still have to get the operating system to give you permission to screw around.
On the other hand, if this exploit is actually true, it doesn't really matter who's driver is to blame: somehow they were able to subvert OS X's security. THAT would be an issue for Apple and for all of us.
All things considered, I don't believe they did what they claim they did.
Yes, it's always good to bury your head in the sand.. makes the problem goes away or even better, makes the problem non-existent. Did you read the part where they are in contact with Apple and microsoft?.. you think apple employees have time to deal with a crackpot?. I believe if this was a joke, you'd know.

I don't know what people are fussing about. If these price points are true, Windows Vista is pretty cheap.
Remember, if you buy Vista, it'll most likely last at least 4-5 years before the next paid upgrade, unlike with OS X where if you want the latest and greatest, you're looking at an upgrade almost every year.
Vista looks to be a big jump from WinXP too, and seems a lot more mac-like. Complain all you want, but more competition puts Cupertino into a sweat and drives Apple into innovating even more. Support for Direct X 10 is going to be felt in about 1-2 years when people start getting DX10 graphics cards and more games take advantage of it.
At least with Apple you DO get the 'greatest'. Not so with Brand X I am afraid. How long has it taken MS to get a new OS out? Years! And if MS could charge for their Service Packs, by calling them something new, they would. But, their product is so full of bad code they cannot do it. Also, your view that MS's innovation "..puts Cupertino into a sweat and drives Apple into innovating even more." is a laugh. It might stop some of the bleeding in Redmond. Vista better be a success. Otherwise, the market share is going to shrink even further.

A couple years ago, 4G meant LTE. Now it means HSPA+. I have no doubt that the next iPhone will be 4G capable, but it won't be LTE. I doubt that delaying the typical launch would have anything to do with including 4G.
Ummm.... I was of the impression that in a couple of markets People tried to promote HSPA+ as 4G and got smacked. Pretty much 4G must be a true 4G tech like LTE to use the name.
Hey I can see 4G/LTE as something Apple will want to get on early. I mean it's a big fat pipe technology. So no more one pipe for digital voice one for digital data.

Geez, this is a MONEY LOSER if there ever was one.
I loved the beatles when I was 6.
But, these days who's going to be buying these tracks!!!
Steve must love the Beatles, because this is a gift.
And will hardly be a profitable venture.
---
Yes, the stereo effect on the early albums is hard on headphones.
The drums ONLY in the Right ear.
The Guitars ONLY in the Left...
My nieces and nephews, ages 15-20, love the Beatles, Stones, Floyd, Zeppelin, Who, etc. They listen to their own genre too, of course. Beatles music is timeless. It is rather amazing when one considers the album "Meet The Beatles" is well over 40 years old.

I have been wanting to move from Windows to an Imac, but I was looking to join up with Apple finally moving to more competitive machines in terms of speed. With the Merom being Apple's choice instead of the more upgradeable Conroe I am wondering what we will all be thinking 6 or 8 months from now when Windows will be running on potentially 4 core machines while we are all stuck with 2 and no headroom. Probably not a concern for current Mac devotees that see the OS as plenty of reason to stick with Apple, but in my mind, instead of the first generation of "faster" Macs we may be buying into just another generation of Macs that run significantly behind the power curve.

I hate subscription models almost as much as I do data caps.
Agreed. And I think this model has it's pros and cons. More cons though. I personally wouldn't mind "renting" Premier Pro and After Effects when a clients asks for a project done with those tools. Or if I were collaborating and didn't want to have to work with EDLs and XML files for cross platform work.
But renting the entire CS would be crazy for anyone that gets consistent work and has their own rig to work on.
The only times I've upgraded my Adobe software has been when I desperately needed to. I stole up to CS1, bought CS2, needed CS3 to escape Rosetta and was given a copy of Design Premium CS4 from my job. I am looking to upgrade to the Master Collection but I may just wait for CS6, the just spend my time with it for 4 years.
Haha, people still actually buy software from Adobe. The Internet is your friend people.
Don't worry about it. The guys who can't afford to pay for it and pirate it are usually the folks who just want to "hoard" it rather than use it. If they had any talent to begin with, they'd be making enough money with the tool where the cost of it would be meaningless anyway. ;)
KnightWRX is correct . . . . 100% in fact.
Your logic is flawed, kid. You need the right tools, BEFORE you can make money with them.
You are wrong . . . 110% wrong in fact. You are so wrong in fact that it hurts. Tools can't teach you how to design. Any goof-ball can learn Photoshop and Illustrator, but it takes a designer to design.
I tell this to my students now that constantly whine about learning apps, but never getting the concepts down, never thinking abstractly, etc.
And as for pirating (which I was into HEAVY), it's actually far better to just buy the EDU version to learn. It's yours, it comes with less bugs, and I am sure you'll eventually want to get paid for your work yourself, so why not pay the company that's helping you get paid?
Please don't tell me that anyone that actually needs the CS apps can't plunk down $450-$1000 for the EDU version, but will shell out $3000 for an overpriced Mac Pro?

Can you add movies to your library that are already on your HD?
I choose file > add to library and selected a bunch of AVI files and it just did nothing.

Not sure yet,
But it looks like we may need to convert videos before we can place them onto our ipod from iTunes.
I just encoded a video using Quicktime Version 7.1.5 (available now via software update). Even after doing that, it appears that I have the option to encode it for iPod  .
::EDIT::
This feature is to encode videos dragged into iTunes, for your ipod.
Meaning. If you are able to drag a movie into iTunes and play it, you can now encode it to play on your Video iPod within iTunes!!

In what sense? Before and after the great war I'd agree, but today I don't entirely see why you'd think this. As i mentioned before, I think britain is the most tolerant country with regards to accepting Blacks, the same can't be said with places like Italy or spain in western Europe and certainly not eastern Europe/Russia.Whether or not Britain is the "most tolerant" country among a field containing some much worse, blacks (and Irish) were openly discriminated against, and certainly in the case of blacks, still are. Many in the UK would rather that the natives from their former colonies just remembered their place.
