Aside from performing, Rihanna picked up Best Dance Recording for Only Girl In The World, but missed out on Best Rap/Sung Collaboration and Best Rap Song for Love The Way You Lie to her mentor Jay-Z and Alicia Keys duet Empire State Of Mind.
Bieber was nominated for Best New Artist and Best Pop Vocal Album for My World 2.0, but missed out in both categories to Esperanza Spalding and Lady Gaga respectively.
Writing on his Twitter page afterwards: 'Tonight was a great night. I got to perform at the Grammys with my mentor Usher Raymond IV and I feel like we did you guys proud.

The teen heartthrob's fans, known as Beliebers, were not as understanding and took to Spalding's Wikipedia page to vent their anger over the unknown artist taking away the prize.
'Justin Bieber deserved it.. go die in a hole. Who the heck are you anyway?', was the sentiment of one of his fans. These messages have now been taken down.
Esperanza is also now receiving death threats, joining Kim Kardashian and Selena Gomez who received them for getting too close to their idol.
But Justin was a perfect gentleman back stage and hugged the Esperanza and said he will try again for the Grammys next year.
