This is torture... I just wish Apple would send out invitations for another event and tell us themselves what it is that we will be seeing. Please, Apple?
it really matters that much to you? is it that big of a deal?

obviously you have never shopped for Enterprise storage for a SAN
back when 2TB drives were $300 or so we bought some 500GB drives from EMC for $800 each plus or minus some $$$.
Agreed. I just spent 55k on 9.6TB of raw fibre channel storage for our 3PAR. That's 16 600GB drives if you were wondering.

Pretty sad that someone would say such a thing in such a case :(. I mean she's 11 and there were 18 of them.
Its a long way from even a "typical" "she deserved it" case where the woman in question is usually drunk and at a club/bar. Not that it is appropriate in that case either, but this is a really shocking case.

I wonder how many of these posts are trolls? I haven't had any issues whatsoever with 4.3.1. I also didn't have any problems with 4.3; battery life has been absolutely stellar and call performance actually improved in 4.3.1.
The timing of all these "bitching" posts just seems suspicious.
Try simple logic.
Apple is releasing an update to fix bugs (after having just released an earlier update to fix bugs). And so people post about their bugs. There's nothing "suspicious" about this at all.
If you are "suspicious" of these posts because you haven't had any issues with 4.3.1, then why do you think that apple is releasing a bug fix? Because there are no bugs?
No, Apple is releasing a bugfix to fix bugs. Do you think that Apple is lying about the bugs? Or is Apple just "bitching?"

http://images.macrumors.com/article/2010/07/30/103131-ios_gps_location.jpg
As noticed by 9 to 5 Mac (http://www.9to5mac.com/57822/apple-looking-to-radically-improve-ios-maps-and-location-services/), Apple has posted a new job listing (http://jobs.apple.com/index.ajs?BID=1&method;=mExternal.showJob&RID;=75809) for an iOS Maps Application Developer who can help "radically improve" the Maps application and other location-based services. The posting is reminiscent of a late 2009 (http://www.macrumors.com/2009/11/27/apple-to-take-iphones-maps-app-to-the-next-level
/) job listing looking for a candidate to help "take Maps to the next level". Apple has also beefed up its maps, navigation and location-based services capabilities with the acquisition of Placebase (http://www.macrumors.com/2009/09/30/apple-acquired-mapping-company-placebase-in-july/) and Poly9 (http://www.macrumors.com/2010/07/14/apple-acquires-web-mapping-firm-poly9/) over the past couple of years. Combining those acquisitions with the moving of location services in-house (http://www.macrumors.com/2010/07/30/apple-moved-location-services-in-house-with-ipad-and-ios-4/) last year and other job postings (http://www.macrumors.com/2010/12/17/apples-ios-engineering-jobs-emphasize-navigation-software-experience/) for navigation-related positions, it certainly appears that Apple is making a full-scale push into the area.
From the very beginning, Apple has relied on Google's technology for maps and location-based services on iOS devices. But as relations between the two companies have soured among increasing competitiveness in mobile devices, Apple is clearly trying to distance itself from Google somewhat by developing its own unique offerings.

I seriously had a dream last night that maps was updated to 3D and you could use the gyroscope etc to fly through optional routes before chosing which one to take ahha.

This is probably a "duh" question. Can you use a microphone with the iPod Touch 3g and still hear the speakers? (Since there is only one input.) The reason I ask is that some young nieces enjoy the Gina the Giraffe and other interactive apps on an iPhone. If so, what mike do you recommend. Thanks. David

Just checked on my O2 account and my iPhone is also being delivered by DHL tomorrow  didn't think my order had been processed as I'm existing iPhone user and got caught up in O2 web order disaster.
This has put the biggest smile on my face :D

I have made a flyer in Pages and one of the text box little "corner squares" will not disappear. Actually, its the bottom center square that has the little plus sign in it. Can anyone tell me how to remove it or make it disappear?

"Aliens vs Predator Requiem" was edited on Final Cut. But that movie was terrible. Maybe it was Final Cuts fault. ;)
But in all seriousness: I think a new Final Cut version is clearly overdue. FCS3 was more like a feature-patch for FCS2 than a new version. These days not having any kind of native AVCHD support really slows you down (and uses up a lot of storage space) particularly considering the DSLR-hype since 2009!
I remember a friend of mine who had bought a Panasonic HMC 150 (which is a professional camera) before FCS3 was released and was expecting native AVCHD in the next release. He has been waiting for this feature for almost two years now, while all the other big editing systems have had it for a while, as far as I know!
I'm into the casual AVCHD use like most consumers, and while my opinion doesn't count the same as most of the heavy editors commenting, Steve Jobs does tend to have a liking for "the river coming to us" as the best use of resources.
In that regard, and with Intel popping Sandy Bridge on the CES stage in January, AVC will get some much needed silicon on chip for encode/decode; the only codec to get that treatment. I doubt that this is anything but conincidence, as OpenCL / Grand Central are much more necessary for FCP's overhaul, but it strikes me that any Sandy Bridge processor in any Mac will by definition ease the AVCHD issues in all of Apple's video applications. Since AVCHD is in the core, one can imagine imagine that future Xeon processors should be quite suitable for AVCHD editing (it's my understanding that the AVCHD standard supports division of the frame into 4 chunks for multithreading).
I hope that this thread is still alive when FCP arrives and that further, there are commenters with with hands on use of the Panasonic AG-AF100 and Sony NEX video cameras
supporting AVCHD and dslr lenses.

Here. I always like the home cloud concept, where you get your own personal server and can transfer data/sync through the cloud. So you own your data instead of trusting it to someone else.
I'm moving in the opposite direction. I ran my own server for years. Now my web site resides on App Engine and my data will be backed up off site. Much less hastle than before.

One more question; how did you get the calendar on the wallpaper? PS? Thanks again :)
The calendar is an app called Dateline. It was pretty cheap when I got it, and it's somewhat helpful. I wish I had something that held a little more info, but it's good for a quick glance.
