Going solo: Katy Perry attended the Pre-Grammy Clive Davis Gala and Salute to Industry Icons Honoring David Geffen in Los Angeles without Russell Brand Katy Perry may have denied reports that she and husband Russell Brand have been seeking marriage counselling, but the couple have been spotted on opposite sides of the States once again.
As the Teenage Dream singer dazzled in a full length shimmering mermaid-inspired gown at a pre-Grammy bash in Los Angeles last night, Brand was in New York shooting an episode for Saturday Night Live.
The couple, who have been spending an increasing amount of time apart recently, only added further speculation to their marriage woes due to their separate appearances.

Russell was therefore forced to joke about his ‘ordinary’ marriage to the American pop star solo during a slapstick sketch on the show, called ‘A Spot Of Tea’.
He was playing one of three elderly British hosts dressed in grandma-drag, while sipping on cups of tea and joking around.
Musician Chris Brown was also a special guest on the episode, who is trying to repair his reputation after pleading guilty to assaulting his then girlfriend Rihanna in 2009.
As part of Brand’s hosting duties, he therefore introduced the RnB singer to the show, which Katy Perry will no doubt be unhappy about, as she is a close friend of Brown’s ex Rihanna.

Grandma drag: Brand dressed up as a grandma for the slapstick sketch show during a segment called 'A Spot Of Tea'The comedian was also filmed flirting with another television guest during a cooking segment and appeared to be kissing the brunette while putting his finger in her mouth.
Meanwhile, as Brand was raising his profile on U.S TV, Katy made sure to look her best during the Pre-Grammy Clive Davis Gala & Salute To Industry Icons Honouring David Geffen.
Her smoky eyes and pink pout accompanied her sequined pink and silver strapless gown.
The figure-hugging dress showed off her every curve and despite having an absent husband, the singer couldn’t contain her excitement for the awards show.
Katy tweeted yesterday: ‘Tomorrow is Grammy’s and boy oh boy do I have a very special performance ready for you. CLUE: The theme is loooooovvvveee.’

It is not yet known whether Brand will jet over to Los Angeles today to accompany his nominated wife to the music awards, but he is expected to make an appearance to quash the couple’s marriage woe rumours.
U.S magazine Life & Style recently made the claims that ‘just three months into their marriage, there is trouble in paradise’ and that the newlyweds are consulting with a counselor because they are experiencing problems.
The report said Perry was upset when her hubby posted a picture on his Twitter page of her without any make-up on. It went to say that they have both ‘been pulled in different directions by their careers’.

During Katy’s night out at the Pre-Grammy bash, she was accompanied by fellow musicians Whitney Houston, who performed on stage, Miley Cyrus, Ciara, Jennifer Hudson and R Kelly.
Miley Cyrus made sure to turn heads as usual, by pouring her curves into a nude skin tight dress that boasted sheer netting across her bust and hips.
