Walk this way: Fergie hotfoots it to a meeting in New York wearing some provocative boots and figure-hugging Felder Felder dress

Most people would turn up to an important business meeting in a conservative power suit.

But when you're a pop star, the usual style rules don't apply.

Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie arrived for a meeting in New York yesterday wearing a pair of provocative thigh-high boots.

Provocative: Despite only showing a little bit of skin, the singer's outfit was certainly head-turning

The singer, real name Stacey Ferguson, teamed the towering platform boots with a long-sleeved black mini dress by Brit label Felder Felder and fringed bag.

Despite her sexy attire, the 36-year-old actually showed off very little skin, just a hint of her toned thighs, so perhaps the outfit wasn't so office-inappropriate.

The I Gotta Feeling singer's hair was perfectly coiffed and she shaded her eyes in dark aviators as she was escorted into the building with her entourage of beefy security men.

Time off: Her husband Josh Duhamel recently revealed that Fergie is taking time off from recording after being worked 'like a rented mule for 8 years'

The nature of her meeting is unknown, though Fergie has confirmed she is taking some time off from recording.

The Black Eyed Peas will be back on the road in late May, but instead of working on her upcoming solo album as planned, Fergie has decided to take it easy during the hiatus.

Her husband, actor Josh Duhamel recently denied reports that he had asked her to slow down her schedule but called the press perception 'sweet.'

'She's not doing it because of me,' he told E Online last week.

Band: Fergie will be back touring with The Black Eyed Peas later next month

'And I mean, we do want to take some time and I'm excited to have more time with her, but we always consider the other person when we're doing something and make sure we're scheduling enough time to be together. That's the only way to make it work.'
