Chaos struck London Underground's Northern Line at the start of this morning's rush when a driverless train broke away from the engine towing it and headed off into the tunnels under Camden towards the centre of the city. At 6:44am the engineering train broke its coupling near Archway station and rolled back down the hill towards oncoming passenger trains. Thanks to the Northern Line having multiple routes through the city control room staff quickly diverted passenger trains safely onto the line's Bank branch whilst the runaway was left to come to a rest at Warren Street station on the Charing Cross part of the network.
Sadly Ringo Starr did not provide commentary.

That stinks. They shuould make it capable to do video with USB cams. They are cheaper. The quality is not as good, but they are cheaper.

definitely something wrong, and any of the things you listed could be the culprit. time to start swapping out components...

Okay, for version 3.0, what if you could enter the specs you want (i.e. combo drive, FW800, USB2, 128 MB Vram), and then it would give you the various machines that can be configured that way, with prices.

Check out Rick Steves for some ideas. Granted, the man's always checking out churches (which is fine if you like history type stuff) but he also has some fantastic recommendations for out-of-the-way places too.
Dusseldorf is beautiful, and relatively low on tourism compared to Berlin or Munich (albeit Munich has the Englischer Garten which is clothing-optional). Still, I'm more of the "spend a month in one place" type of traveller than move around so much.
And if you're in Amsterdam looking for sex, avoid the places that give you a free t-shirt. :D

I love the holiday. However, Santa 'Jobs' won't come until MacWorld.
Of course, it's heaven when fans are able to watch the Keynote live or be a part of the MacWorld Expo hype.

quick and exciting very good :)
the packaging piece is bland, can you dolly in and maybe tumble the camera a little?
only critique is that zip up at the end is cut too quick.
you had it nice and slow at start but at the end something where you can at least see it going up as ending.
cant get the zipper feel ;)

There's about a 1% chance that a deal like that is legit. Don't risk it. A 'good deal' on current Mac gear means saving a couple hundred dollars AT MOST. Look at other Mac auctions. Sellers are getting nearly full retail price for newer Macs in good condition. Ask yourself, why would someone sell their setup for nearly $3000 less than it's worth? Don't get greedy. If you want to save some $$ on a mac, check out refurbished products from the Apple store or smalldog.com.

Apple's own Software Update and QuickTime's own Update function fail to detect this new version. Therefore you have to manually download it from www.apple.com/quicktime.

I did but sorta regret it ... it's not SO unstable that it's unusable, but some features such as no Rosetta and the few bugs that make it annoying to use, do make me regret upgrading. Thankfully updates are coming regularly so things are only improving, and I dual-boot into W7 whenever something needs to get done bug-free.
I am also having some issues, but up until now Lion has been very stable. Spotlight doesnt always find my apps, but I am giving it some more time...

Leaked... With intro and everything! Pretty amazing how leaked videos are so polished. ;)
Just because it was intended for in-house or business-to-business use doesn't mean it has to look like crap. We produce a fair amount of in-house promos that either go to the marketing/sales reps or get shown off to the suits up stairs and the videos look as slick as anything you'd see on TV.

you think they would do something like what they did with the earlier macbooks when 802.11n came out and have you buy an enabler. So i guess i'm saying do you think that apple already put blue-ray drives in.
Not likely, it was discovered the day they released the 802.11n cards that they were the faster wireless. Someone by now would have opened up a new Mac Pro and discovered the Blu-Ray drives if they had done that.

Get a gigabit switch. They're cheap. As well, many/most currently sold WiFi routers and cable modems/DSL routers have a built-in gigabyte switch.
To use the WiFi printer, the device that is printing does NOT have to connect to the WiFi router via WiFi. It can connect hard-wired. That means if the WiFi router has a gigabyte switch, the connection to other hard-wired devices will be gigabyte (assuming gigabyte capability in the other device.) So the WiFi speed is not an issue, except when printing. And the WiFi speed will be more than sufficient for printing. You'll also be able to print from both machines.
