Top Secret stuff? You mean like a movie download service? Or a Front Row PVR? iPhone software?
I find it interesting that he didn't say anything about Front Row and how it would be improved. He didn't say anything about iChat and how it might evolve into a phone service with an integrated iPod/iPhone. In fact, everything they did show are pretty much improvements to existing technologies, except Time Machine (way cool). They didn't add HD-DVD/Blueray to the Mac Pros. I guess what I'm getting at are things that didn't show up are most likely software technologies that have an accompaning hardware device to go with it, and since those products aren't ready they can't spill the beans just yet.
Mac World in January is going to be amazing!
I'd say chances are very good we will see Steve give another keynote before the holidays roll around. This will be an event focusing on those "Top Secret" features. Afterall, they can't just release Leopard in early 2007 without showing off these features first. They just have to time it right so Microsoft doesn't "photocopy" it. :p
By the way, I love Apple's random stabs at Microsoft and Windows Vista. I love it! :D

I can't see any differences in temperature, voltage or frequency after the SMC update. I use the coolbook utility to monitor this (http://www.coolbook.se.

Personally the Zune is looking fairly attrective right now. Ever since the 5th Gen iPod came out everyone has complained that it needed to be widescreen and have a bigger screen. I don't care for the WiFi sharing really but you have to admit the interface looks pretty nice.
Oh yes, a "click wheel" that does not actually have click wheel functions is such a nice interface...

If that iPhone is true, then it would be the ugliest product released by Apple in a long time. What's next...a Pippin 2 Perhaps..

In other words, what we saw tonight was nowhere near the final form of the application.
This statement has me a bit puzzled. FCP is supposed to be out in around 2 months. Are they going to rush the rest into FCP in this amount of time, or get the basics in there, then drag onto multiple updates?
Not at all. They wanted to give folks a taste. Back in February they had enough to do that and 'locked' the current form (with perhaps some things left out on purpose) as the demo. Showed it to a select group and then saved it for last night,
Then kept working on FCP and everything else (which has been under work for a while)

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPod; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_2_1 like Mac OS X; en-gb) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8C148 Safari/6533.18.5)
Apple could probably produce a 500gb classic without much of a price difference. Anybody tried upgrading one or putting an HD in a touch?

Anyone knows if the mac pro allows us to upgrade to PCI graphics cards bought from retail stores? Will there be any driver issues? Do graphics card vendors include Mac drivers on their installation disc? Never seen one that does though..
Thx for answering.

Here are my thoughts ( if anyone cares ):
The left column icons are really bad.
The type headers are too big.
The spacing is horrendous.
Missing Equalizer button.
Missing Visualizer button.
Coverflow was cool as it was a stand alone app. But to just squeeze the exisitng app into itunes is just plain lazy. Doesn't seem like much thought went into that one.
Ipod updates are cool.
The Search is back to how it was. No more tabs up on top? Not searching for videos?
What if i want to collapse the Store section on the Left Column? I can't. Stupid UI.
To be honest, i think all this Apple attention is hurting their creativity. The buttons look like the first version of iTunes for the PC.
Hopefully this is that bad version, and they will correct it. I will be sending these comments to Apple Feedback as well.
Peace.
Update: Oh and i forgot!... the Dock Icon. FUGLY!

Pardon me for not reading all six pages, but can anyone describe (generally) the 47 different versions of Windows upcoming?
Will Basic only play minesweeper? What does it *not* do that Ultimate-Double-Secret-Robot-Super-Monkey-Force-Go! edition does?

Editions and pricing
On February 26, Microsoft announced that Windows Vista will ship in six editions.[40] All versions will be available in both 32-bit (x86) and 64-bit (x86-64) architectures, except Windows Vista Starter which will only be available for 32-bit architectures. A partial table of the features planned for each edition is also available at Paul Thurrott's SuperSite for Windows[41].

Add Frank Zappa to that list.
His estate, to be more accurate. I'm pretty sure Frank didn't believe in an afterlife. :)

No, later CD builds were relieved of the whine. That wasn't solved by a C2D chip, but better quality control.
Really. That is good to hear. Glad to see Apple figured out what the problem was and took care of it.

I miss the days of holovids:D I sure didn't miss much of the story then, unless of course I decided to get the hell out of a level vs reading the 'vids.
I will say, I quite enjoy co-op multiplayer even though I much dislike the story and lack of emotion.
The data pads have me much intrigued, but I, unlike some of you, but like most of the halo population, will not torture myself with Reaches legendary. (where half of the datapads can be found)

Figure a new umpc, maybe a tablet, and make it always connected via some new 3/4G network. They'll make a tiny device that people will always carry.
This is my guess too. Very small notebook with built in 3G from AT&T.; Data plan available for $20 a month or included with your iphone cell plan.
I seem to remember something coming up a few weeks ago where AT&T; was thinking about offering their data plan as a standalone option and this would certainly fit.

Well if they make it so you can zoom in or choose your text size then that'd be awesome. Otherwise, for those of us who are visually impaired, it's a load of shite.

I thought about this, and I just can't see Wal-Mart winning this battle.
If they drop DVD sales, then they undermine the DVD format. That will push people towards streaming movies of the type Apple intends to sell.
This threat is hollow. People do, right now, want to buy DVDs. Wal-Mart can choose between a choice of online, virtual, purchases and content-in-the-hand solid purchases in future, or no choice at all and the entire world going online. Try as I may, I don't see it in Wal-Mart's best interests to promote the latter. And anything they do to hurt DVD sales will lead to the latter.

really. that's awesome! If you don't mind me asking how much did the 8GB come out to after the education discount?
It was $20 off. It came to $248 and some change so basically tax gets taken off in NY.
