Not what I call an effective tracking device. If they were talking 1/2 mile than ok, but 60 feet away running, they could hear me gasping for breath better.. lol

Biggest problem with Veloster: it needs a more powerful engine. Maybe Hyundai will see it fit to install the 173 bhp 2.4-liter I-4 found on the current Kia Forte, which would give the Veloster a needed performance boost. :)
perhaps down the line for the US market, for the european market a NA I4 2.4 liter engine with 173hp is just going to gather dust in the showrooms
140hp will be fine for the launch looking at the competition: the cr-z is 136 hp hybrid only, the megane ranges from 110 to 180 and the scirocco from 120 to 210 (that is a 2.0 turbo petrol) including diesel options
and those hardly selling great at the moment: don't make it worse with an unsellable engine

Ooooh, I get it. They're snapping hardware on it.
As long as I can use it as a tablet, I'll be happy.

I'm on UQ Wimax with an NEC A t e r m W M 3 5 0 0 R router. It's a POS really, I keep losing my wifi connection when I have my laptop AND my Android phone(s) connected. But it's so inconsistent, sometimes hours go by before I get an issue, sometimes it happens within minutes.
I only keep it cuz it's fairly stable with just my MBA connected, and because of the amazing 8 hours of battery.
This was plan with no contract, and flat fee for unlimited (actually really unlimited, this is Japan!) data. 4490/month. With contract is 500 cheaper or something, maybe 1000. Can't remember. Device itself was 5100, and activation was another 2-3000.
Patrix.
Thanks for the info, I need to find a good reasonable price on an iPad sim card (the AT&T; international rates are a joke)!
We have a bunch of free wifi hot spots on the bases so my laptops are fine with those but the iOS devices don't play well with them and the ISP doens't really seem to care to want to fix that connectivity...

As a developer, I don’t care if it has a cellular radio or not... so iPad and iPod need to be counted too, unless you’re studying carriers alone.
I'm sorry, but I don't see what's wrong with a survey of mobile phone sales only including mobile phones.
You should be looking at other analysis for the information you want.

Rental via download: yes!
Purchase: no!
If I want to own, I want the disc. Burning answers that mostly, but a nice box set is still preferred.
But the point is, I seldom WANT to own. It's not like music. I seldom want to watch the same movie again. So let me rent--at a price that's low enough to be reasonable at whatever quality they deliver.
If quality is sub-DVD, the price had better be sub-Netflix and the selection had better be great. (Which is unlikely to happen quickly--but eventually.) Convenience/instant gratification do add some value, but I won't compromise too much on quality. (iTunes TV shows are OK quality for a missed episode, not good enough to collect and keep. For me.)
So I hope Steve Jobs gets over his no-rental mindset on this.

I wouldn't make that assumption. Just because iLife ships only with new Macs of the same model year doesn't mean that you're stuck with iLife '05 on your 2005 Mac. It could easily be the case that iLife will be optimized for Leopard with enhanced features, but will still be compatible with Tiger (remember the days when software was optimized for Altivec but didn't require it?).
Of course, it's not impossible that iLife '07 will be Leopard-only, especially if it doesn't add anything to iLife '06 functionality. I can't think of any obvious new functions for iLife to add. More themes, some reorganization, etc. would be new features, but not breaking any new ground.
Two words: Multiple Libraries.
Both iTunes and iPhoto would be nice if you could have real multiple library support. For example, my wife and I have completely different tastes in music, so of our approximately 4000 song collection, there are maybe only about 400 songs that overlap. My wife REALLY doesn't want to hear Eminem or Evanescence popping up on her iPod, and I REALLY don't want to hear Alan Jackson or Garth Brooks on mine. Yeah, we can set up playlists, and we do have a couple dozen playlists. But we create, delete, and change the playlists often, and don't want to have to update our iPod preferences all the time. We want two separate libraries, but that don't duplicate the 400 songs that we *DO* both like. (Okay, it may be closer to 1000. We do both like classical, and have a decent size classical section.)
Also I can imagine official support for net-storage shared libraries, especially with the net disk feature of the new AirPort Extreme.
Also nice would be if iWeb would store my website in a more convenient location, like, say, the 'Sites' folder. (I remember when iPhoto stored its library in the Documents folder, too.) And the ability to do two separate websites, to two separate locations would be nice. (It supports multiple 'websites', but they both publish to the same location. I would like ONE website on my .Mac site, and another hosted locally, but both designed with iWeb.)
iDVD supporting HD would be a nice addition. If not Blu-Ray or HD-DVD, at least the current "HD on standard DVD" format DVD Studio Pro supports.

Looking forward to an improved native turn by turn navigation app. IMO this is night and day the biggest advantage Android phones have over the iPhone. The turn by turn nagivation and voice integration of the Google maps navigation app on my Droid was absolutely amazing and the free iPhone apps pale in comparison. I haven't tried any of the paid navigation apps. What I'd really like is Google's navigation app on the iPhone but I'm assuming that will never happen. Hopefully this new app will be ready with iOS 5

Yep.
I got it from there too!
What a gr8 site that is! :)
I am downloading every single movie off it. I had many myself, but this will make my Apple movie collection nice and complete.
Superb job building that site, guys!
Many, many, many tnx!
EDIT:
BTW.... how was that movie made? Using a screen-capture-movie tool? Or was the entire cache of the stream somehow captured..?

I loved the first Portal and The Orange Box, but $50 for Portal 2 seems kind of steep to me.
How is $50 for a new video game "kind of steep"? The price of video games has not changed too much in the past several decades. I paid $45 for Quest for Glory 2, which came out in 1990, which is not too far off from $50 (inflation not included, either). With the exception of new A-list games on PS3 and Xbox 360 (generally starting closer to $60), the price of many games has gone down, especially for PCs.
It might be interesting to see if games for phones become a profitable revenue stream for game developers since they can skip several of the middle men via downloading games, instead of through traditional retail.
One thing which has surprised me is how many Portal 2 advertisements I've seen on buses or billboards. I've rarely seen video games advertised to such an extent, so that was certainly different.

So you could theoretically build and conceal tracking stations all over the place and thus monitor these short-range transmissions. Wouldn't it be simpler just to hide cameras all over?
It would be much simpler to get a radio tracking system (like they use on wildlife) for like $500 and drop the transmitter in their bag, purse, tape it to their car, etc. You can do alot of things in theory. Practicality usually brings people to the easier means....

He's dropped 6 catches so it seems only fair he gets dropped 3 times and go on to make his first 100.
Now, can you Poms please get out soon?

Still no word on SATA III for some or all of the busses? It shouldn't be hard to figure out, listed in System Profiler.

Well, folks, I suppose it's time to announce...
And, after all, if such an announcement as this is to come from anywhere, then why not from he who is the MikeTheC...
I can now unofficially confirm that it is now confirmed. But only unofficially.
