My question though is how is this any different then having multiple TVs on your cable account? You can only watch TV on your account when your in your own home and on your own WiFi. Time warner took some pretty big steps to make sure you can't "steal" cable... It is a pretty secure app.
I am just wondering why Viacom and others are bitching? Its just like going in the other room and watching it on the other TV... Doesn't allow you to watch TV away from home..

Kinect is more for the kids. They really enjoy Wii Sports so if there's an alternative (or blatant clone) with decent graphics for Move or Kinect, they'll be happy. It'll be interesting what 'Family' type games are released for both the new motion sensing systems. If you're going to wildly flail around the livingroom, you may as well do it in HD.
I personally just want a shiny black 360 to put under the livingroom telly. King of Fighters '98 Ultimate Match (and maybe '02 UM?), Mark of the Wolves and both Virtual-ON Oratario Tangram and Force. Just need Hori to do another run of Twin Sticks...

My guess is Kinects is a way to keep from having to buy both a Wii and an 360. Of the system I like I like the 360 as it has more of the games that I like on it. Now if I had a family I could see getting the Kinects for it so the little kids would have something to play but then again I more than likely would put the 360 in another room since I would not want them seeing the Rated M games that I will play.

Explain how it's adding unpredictability if we're being told what song to buy, to get to No.1? By my definition that's the complete opposite of unpredictable.
If it's "just some fun" then that's a different story...but it's not. It's about people getting all whinny because they think Simon Cowell is taking over the music industry, and leading us like sheep to make his song's No.1. If you don't like the damn XFactor songs then quite rightly don't buy them! Buy what you want to become No.1. But when when people deliberately try and manipulate the results, thinking it will "teach that man a lesson", it becomes less about the music and more about some stupid battle with Simon Cowell!
The song I want to see at No.1 is the song that I like most at that particular time, not the song that I think will give the best metaphorical finger to Mr. Cowell.

Here we go kids!! Expect lot's of grandstanding and some real knee jerk legislation cause this IS the year to gear up for the big election. I wish someone would inform people that it's their responsibility to be informed consumers AND parents. My kid racked up $380 in cell downloads in one month. I didn't need my senator to step in. I took away her phone for a month, blocked her ability to purchase ANYTHING on it, and worked out the bill with my provider (AT&T;) who practically wiped it all away. This is just going to burden us with more laws and subsequently, more taxes in the form of direct taxation of products, indirect taxes by way of price hikes due to a rise in business tax, or BOTH.

The Laffer Curve is often referenced, but you're correct about it's actual meaning. Some conservatives have taken the Curve to mean that lowering taxes will always bring about more revenue. Something this article is trying to address.
Thing about the Laffer curve is that there was/is no research or data to back it up. Arthur Laffer pulled it out of a dark place and scribbled it down on a cocktail napkin. Its actual shape may have no actual correlation to the smooth bell we always see, it is all fiction because no one has tried to demonstrate its validity or accuracy.
In the short-term, lowering taxes just takes money from the state purse and does not drive new economic development. In the mid-term and long-term, lower taxes may encourage growth, but there's not a direct connection between taxation and economic development.
I believe I have seen it suggested somewhere that raising taxes puts pressure on business, which may have the effect of stimulating growth by forcing the businesses to make up the lost revenue (ramping up). What effect government policy has on the economy is not clear because the economy is made up of a mass of Brownian particles that move in unpredictable and befuddling ways. And the factors that affect macroeconomics are themselves in constant flux, so the thing that (seemed to) work last time could have a disastrous impact next time around.
But the issue that troubles me is growth. The health of the economy is always measured by the GDP growth rate: the higher the better. That seems like folly, and history seems to support that. The more vodka, the worse the hangover. The faster you drive, the worse the crash. Having two different colors means nothing, but now you're dealing with two different thicknesses, plus two different button layouts, meaning a total of 4 DIFFERENT versions of supposedly the same phone, all requiring their own slightly varied case (seeing how a lot of cases designed for the black iPhone 4 will not fit the thicker white models - and how some need to be changed for CDMA and GSM versions).
If a QC issue is getting out this much, then it must be one hell of a QC issue.

i used to hate film with a passion. you have to be careful about taking pictures since a 24 exposure roll always went too fast. and you always let the good one get away.
digital you just keep on snapping and find a good one later. i always laugh at my wife who tries to take the perfect picture. we had a pro at our wedding and that is the one thing i learned from him, as well as watching others. take as many pics as you can and find a good one later

I disagree. Apple doesn't need to compete with that at all. Android is not taking iPhone sales as long as Apple is selling them as fast as they can make them. In fact, the smaller droids are too small and the larger droids are too large..
The whole idea of business is to sell. Why not try to outsell and take business from other companies? Android is taking sales away from Apple because they are selling a competing product.

I love to see more of this technology implemented, my nice ipad 1;) has apple lossless albums in it and the music coming out sound great. It still just wifi but been able to streem music to anywhere in the house by hooking up an apple airport is also nice.
Airport with bose speakers upstairs kitchen area :) would not have been possible or as easy as it was before airplay.
So apple go for it make our lives easier to enjoy.:D

Apart from the backlit keyboard, choice of screen (which is also larger), aluminium casing, expresscard.
Some aren't that convinced that it's worth the extra coin though, and I can empathise with that view too.
OSX alone is worth spending 10 grand on a laptop. We are so lucky to have this capitalism thing. Otherwise with communism a Mac will indeed cost a year's harvest of grain.
