seems like apple is using the same modus operandi "tick-tock" as intel :apple:
What a staggering coincidence.

Any application itself should run off the system drive. The application doesn't need a dedicated drive to run. I think what your friend means is that you keep all your projects and media used in that project on a dedicated drive. It's those files that will get accessed a lot and if you want smooth, consistent performance you put all of that on a dedicated drive.
That's what I thought at first, too. But, he keeps persisting that I install the software on a separate disk. I think that would be easy with a desktop like a Mac Pro where you have multiple hard drive bays.
I'm just trying to optimize my mac's performance without jeopardizing it's system drive, which is a WD scorpio black I put in it, and get the best out of it the computer, without ruining anything. (I'm overly anal, I know, it's a curse.)

This whole situation leaves me so puzzled with all the twitter accounts saying no one is working on the iPad 2 JB. There was a video posted by comex when it first came out with it completely jailbroken and Cydia installed http://tinyurl.com/6hac8j4. I haven't heard any news about this since the video was released. I mean if it was patched in 4.3.1 why not release it anyways, having a 4.3 JB is better than not having one at all. If it contains Apple code why not get some assistance from the JB community? I know the Dev Team is an extremely intelligent bunch of individuals, but it usually helps and speeds things up when you get more eyes on a certain problem.
I always looked to the JB scene as a community. Why not let the community help out to get this out to the public?

Have you tried AJA System Test (http://www.aja.com/products/software/) yet to benchmark your HDD?
And how much free HDD capacity do you have?

Also on a side note... your breadcrumb at the top of the forum page is broken in FireFox. The "trigger box" for the "MacRumors Forums" link is a huge box that overlays the next few items in the breadcrumb. Essentially, making the neighboring links useless because it would fire the "MacRumors Forums" link instead.
This is an issue with one of your Firefox extensions.
As for the breadcrumbs, we noticed they went missing after we updated the forums last week, but it wasn't something we consciously changed. We'll see if there's anything we can do to bring them back.

I had the mStand as well but as Knight mentions, it didn't suit the MacBook Air as good as it does with Apple's other MacBooks, so I let it go and just recently purchased the Griffin Elevator. I must say I really like this stand and its minimal approach matches the MBA aesthetics very well in my opinion.
Also, since it has a smaller incline than the mStand, your able to tilt your Macbook's screen further back.
Very nice and highly recommended.
That looks nice and all, but it's slightly higher than I had in mind. Looking for something that maintains a height so you you can still type on the air, yet elevates it at a slight angle.

What? The iPhone 3G was not a "Complete Redesign". Internally, it used the same CPU, RMA and chipset as did the iPhone 1. The only difference was the addition of a 3G radio and a plastic curved back; hardly a "Complete Redesign"
Oh I completely agree. You put a 2G and a 3G side by side and you can barely tell them apart.

A great place to grab Jag for cheap is OWC, or eBay.
Jag never shipped on DVD-ROMs, unless they are the system restore discs, and even then I believe it was CDs.
The Wallstreets are a nice machine if you have enough RAM and a big HD in them. And if the person who sold you one didnt really screw you over by selling you a dying machine. -.-
I absolutely love my Wallstreet. It's even a Wallstreet II so it isn't one of those ones without a backside cache (think it was the backside cache) I mean yeah it has a couple problems. Dead battery, OS9.2. But I mean aside from that it's a great machine.
I got your PM artful, I'll let you know if I decide to go that route. :)

Actually I think that all intel macbooks ( including pro) 's airport card is 802.11g and draft N... the problem is that they cant advertise it, because n is still in draft status at IEEE... so you can't really say hey this is an N... because N doesn't really exist as a satandard ( making a standard is a lenghty process takes about 5 to 6 years for the whole process...) if anyone has a draft n wifi router, please try and check the conection speed on you mactel macbook.. would be good to know if this is just a rumor, or if its really a fact.. i know i read it before buying my blackbook.. but alas.. i dont have a n draft router...
When the Airport Extreme came out it was before G was approved, they later flashed it up to the standard because it was close.
There are many Pre-N routers out there. All you have to say is 'Pre-N' and you're good to go.

So, now Zune software is gonna compete with Windows Phone 7?
Zune now being used to brand the synchronisation software and music service - it no longer has anything to do with hardware in much the same way that iTunes is the player and music service with the iPod/iPhone being the devices themselves.
Personally I made no sense what so ever doing the hardware given that Microsoft was better suited focusing on the software and then letting the various vendors out there sort out the hardware details. IMHO I do think that they should expand Windows Phone 7 to include media players and tablets as well.

^^^ I agree with the above comments ... you will need the software to edit.
My advice ... because Illustrator and InDesign are not Applications that you can learn overnight.
Buy yourself a Tutorial Book on Illustrator and then download the Free Trial version of Illustrator from Adobe. That may be enough to learn how to edit the layers the Designer has created.
Leave the InDesign part to the Printer and just supply the Printer with "print ready hi rez PDF files.
again ... you will need to buy Illustrator as the Trial version will expire after 30 days.
good luck

Sorry about late reply, crazy hours at work.
It shows that your only 22! language acrobatic funny rappers have more lyrics than
the original hard core rappers?? what?
[snip]
Damn Need I go on to school you?!!! :D ;)
well i was more thinking about hip hop/rap in my own language ;) and in german it's sounds like hypocrisy singing about ghetto and the whole gangsta thing .. most are simply copying US ones
(i didn't knew a single rapper you mentioned, not interested that much, after all i'm more the rock'n'roll guy ;) so you would need a lot of cars to drag me into hiphop-school)
about age: try finding lots of (male) hiphop fans older than 20 over here... they are the exception and not the rule.. for me hiphop is still teenager music stuff simply because of the people who like it over here .. if you don't grew up with it you won't like it later

Guys - before you go crazy, its not going to work. Even if you strip DRM you still can't install it on non JB ipads. In order to install the app and have it working you still need to modify mobileframe work.

Thanks James, aka Eaton Photos. I cannot believe how many hard drives you have filled in a modest amount of time! It appears that I need to modify my HDD setup and backup plan, as I did not "factor in" a massive expansion when contemplating my HDD setup and backup plan. I thought I was being overzealous planning the use of one HDD.
You must have tens of thousands of photos, but your point being that one's photo library can grow extensively in a fairly limited amount of time and one should plan accordingly, noted!
I am reading about the different RAID arrays and which one's purpose is required for certain situations. I thought RAID was overkill for my needs, but I may be mistaken. Thank you Sir for sharing your knowledge! The photographers are quick to share knowledge and provide advice.
Well, I have learned a ton and I have to modify my plan in order to build the system I have envisioned.
Keep in mind that Mr. Eaton is a professional. He shoots with a full frame camera that yields large file size images. Think about what you are going to be doing with photography before you jump into all this. The setup you are thinking of buying - the Mac Pro - is easily expandable. If you start with two drives, you still have room for two more. I have a MBP that came with a 250Gb drive. That was good for a year before I upgraded it to a 500 Gb one. The old drive is in an external enclosure and serves as a photo backup of my Aperture file vault. I have a 1TB external drive for Time Machine, and that backs up everything on my system. This is my hobby and I probably shoot around 200 images in an average month, more during good weather. I have a Canon XSi and will move to a 7D in a year or so.
Just my 2k worth.
Edit: My advice is to not configure your setup as an end all right out of the gate. Storage technology is rapidly evolving, and what you dump all that money on may be obsolete in two years. Thunder Bolt will lead to fiber optics being standard and solid state drives will replace disc drives before you know it.
