PSN pricing puts VC prices to shame.
This is probably the only reason Sony made PSN prices so cheap, don't you think?

Did anyone install it already?
I've received it 2 days ago but still have the stealth guard on my iPt which is going to be replaced in a week, so I will put the bse on the replacement-device.
Are those bse for a dry installation? I've received them in an envelope without a solution, just like the stealth guards.

Wow, that seems like it came directly out of Phone Booth with Colin Farrell. Just watched it last nite in fact! (great movie, very psychological)

I just got it for 13$ delivered on Ebay and it came yesterday! I was stoked. I played it before and stuck to the story and probably made it only an hour or two into it.. But this time I am exploring and it is deep! Anyone got any useful tips, linkeys or anything or a noob at this game? Also is the Knights of the Nine a worthwhile expansion? I didn't get the greatest hits one, but mine did come with the map, manual, case, and the disc was in great shape. So far I am addicted to this.

OS 9 comes with a utility called Apple System Profiler. On a default installation it should be in your Apple Menu, but if it's not there do a search.

How about 1080p movies in full screen mode? Does it look bad? Do you guys prefer watching it through a window at 1080p?
1080p, or even 720p should be fine. Moving picture is different because you don't concentrate in small details but try to read text in Safari at 1920x1080 and it will look pixel-ish, something that you don't want.

Hi guys, I just swapped my iPad 2 out for yet another new one (and flawless screen-wise; yes, they do exist!) and it turns out that it came with 4.3.1.
Being that 4.3.3 just came out hours ago, will Apple still let me upgrade to 4.3.2? I read somewhere that they do allow customers to upgrade to the immediate predecessor of a just released iOS update for a short period of time. Is this true?
Yes, I know there's no jailbreak for the iPad 2 yet, but I'm not worried about my location data, which this mini update is all about. However, I'd like to get 4.3.2 for its (supposed) battery life benefits.
It also happens to be something that I've always wanted to know how to do, i.e. upgrade to a version that is different than what iTunes serves up.
Oh, and yes, I have my SHSH blobs for 4.3.2 saved by way of TinyUmbrella, if that makes any difference. ;)
Thanks very much for any responses! :)

The direct port of these batch files to bash scripts would be, respectively:
export CLASSPATH=RemoteShell.jar
java RemoteShellServer $1 $2
export CLASSPATH=RemoteShell.jar
java RemoteShellClient $1 $2 $3 $4
javac -g:none *.java
jar cvf RemoteShell.jar *.class
But you seem to be by-passing them by using java RemoteShellClient directly from the command line. So I don't think they're the cause of your error.
According to JavaClient.bat (now the JavaClient bash script), RemoteShellClient expects 4 arguments. From the look of the command your trying to use, these arguments are: 1) the IP address of the remote computer, 2) the port of the remote computer, 3) the command to run on the remote computer, 4) the arguments to be passed to the remote command. The remote command and argument suggests that the remote computer is running Windows. Is that the case?
Do you know where the error is coming from? I've not seen bash output this error, so I doubt it's coming from there. Is there other output to suggest it's coming from RemoteShellClient, or from the remote computer?

After getting the beta to work after several attempts, I'm getting around 650 PPD on my first unit on a 2.0GHZ MBP Core Duo. I would love to install this on my friends Mac Pro!
Is there a way to limit the CPU usage with the SMP beta, I want to find some balance of CPU usage that allows me to run the fans at around 2500-3000 RPM, they are at 4000 now at full capacity, but I don't want my fans to break AGAIN (I'm 1 for 3 on apple laptops that have fans work for more than a year without making noises that sound like they came from hell)

I nealry lost a testicle when my wife saw the debit... but once she got to use the monitor a bit.... she was thrilled and acknowledge how much better it is then her 17 inch dell at work and praised me for making such a wise investment....
now if that does not demonstrate the quality of apple.... you should just go buy a dell!
The negative post on the new 23" on the Apple forum have slowed down and seem to be populated by a few who have uneven backlighting with yellow shading on the left.

kinds of looks like any page with tons of flash games on it.
Sorry but not going to go with the standard Apple coping crap here. Apple copies a lay out that was out for those web pages with flash games.
On top of that it looks a lot like the game folder on Windows Vista/7. On top of that MS called apple on saying App Store was generic looks like they are making the point even bigger now.

This weekend ASU physicist Paul Davies celebrated the 50th anniversary of astronomer Frank Drake’s “start of the most ambitious scientific experiment in history”: the search for extraterrestrial intelligence (SETI); (Wall Street Journal; 4/10/10). On April 8, 1960 Drake, using the 85 foot radio telescope at Green Bank, WV, became the first to listen for signals from intelligent space aliens. But it’s been a long drought. According to Davies, "After five decades of patient listening, however, all the astronomers have to show for it is an eerie silence".
SETI, not my cup of tea.
i started folding a few days after my younger (and only) sister died from something that is being studied by F@H. she made it 2 days past her 35th birthday, and left a 4 month old baby and widow (and me) behind. i've been folding ever since, and won't stop until they quit giving out work units. period.
thanks to all who fold here/there/everywhere.

Hi, I'm going to be ordering a 12" PB in the next couple of weeks, whether the much rumored revisions happen or not but in would be cool if they did. This will be my first Mac and I'm very excited but I have a couple of questions:
Josh
1) What do you guys think of Bluetooth mice?
In my experience with Apple's BT mouse, I have only noticed lag when I had my BT keyboard hook up as well. Macally's mouse got great reviews, so I would recommend you go for it.
2) RAM - I'm going to max out the RAM (1.25g) so is there any advantage to the RAM Apple installs on built-to-order machines that makes it worth the $400 price tag or is this just the cost of convenience?
Simply convenience here...www.18004MEMORY.com...I bought a 1gig Corsair chip for my 1.5Ghz 12" powerbook and have had absolutely ZERO problems. Just make SURE it's guaranteed to work in your machine and you should be just fine.
3) I'm going to be doing a lot of video editing work with this computer, I know it's not the ideal machine for it but it's what I can afford and it should do the job until I can buy something better.
Any sort of laptop holder is fine. I have used the iCurve and am currently using the podiumpad (only real difference between them is height, the iCurve forces you to use an external keyboard) but besides that, you are going to be just fine. Fans wouldn't help much unless they were inside the case, but I have run Halo, the Doom 3 demo, Final Cut, InDesign, etc. without any problems. Yes, the internal fan does turn on and the powerbook gets warm, but never HOT.

Imma somewhat agree and somewhat disagree. Some Thinkpads (although not current ones) have AFFS (or IPS) screens that are better than anything else I've ever seen in a laptop.. by far.
