Here's my addition today - a fisherman on Pound Lake in Virginia. Something about the fog coming off the lake but seeing his cast worked great for me that morning - 5 minutes later and I would have missed it...

Opinions are good things huh....
my iphone produces some ok photos but also produces a large volume of absolute shite ones.
The higher mp may not mean muhc, but hopefully they will be improving the optics/sensor while at it. The nokia n8 may be a fugly symbian^3 abomination, but the sensor combined with the carl zeiss optics produces some really nice photos, even in low light.
You can also use the hdmi out for flipping throuhg photos, and not just the fakin stupid slideshow like the hdmi adapter on the iphone4
I'm not sure you're being serious, but here's a serious response nonetheless.
Indeed, opinions are great when they agree with every single review of the phone. The iPhone 4 has even been compared with the N8, and low light is exactly where it does best. In good lighting, the N8's 8 MP and obviously suitable optics can produce a great photo, but is plenty of circumstances, the iPhone 4 has the upper hand simply because it uses fewer, larger pixels.
And what does HDMI have to do with the photo sensor? It sounds like you just wish you had a Nokia N8 instead of an iPhone 4, or am I misunderstanding your tone?

Hah. Approaching $4/Gal? It's been four & a half bucks here since forever & we're eyeballing $5/Gal & this is still the US. People who obsess about a dollar a gallon need to get a more efficient car.
Tell that to the soccer moms who insist on driving V8 Suburbans or Powerstroke Diesels.
My buddy's mom drives a V10 Excursion to go grocery shopping.
It's the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen.

You guys do understand that such an agreement would be so iTunes could include tracks from the Beatles catalog in their store, NOT give them license to use their pick of songs in advertising, right?
With all due respect to the 'Fab Four', it would be pretty silly for Apple to spend a million bucks for the license to use one of their songs in order to promote the songs availability on iTunes.
Let's face it.. most of the folks who want Beatles tracks already have them.. so unless iTunes will be offering some never before released tracks (doubtful) the overall impact that this will have on Apples profits is marginal, at best.
I disagree. It's about mindshare. If Apple has the exclusive, then it's a selling point VS the Zune to new customers.

Are we under the assumption that the Lion upgrade will be $29?
I haven't been around for a release past Snow Leopard so I'm not sure what to expect. It'll be $129 — the same as ALL of the past upgrades except for Snow Leopard which was Leopard but just a slimmed-down, rewriting of the OS. Apple felt that without a lot of core new features being added, they would give the public a break and just charge a nominal fee for Snow Leopard, rather than the typical $129.
Don't listen to anyone who says differently. It will be $129.

I'm seriously amazed that ANYONE is defending Apple here.

Have you not understood a single post discussing the merits of Apple approving apps? The simple fact is that it is a good idea. Apple's execution is somewhat flawed and could certainly be improved.

I don't know about the UK, but I believe that they're available now in the US.
if they're not too pricey i might have to update, although they're gonna have to have more power than the II's, there's a piddly amount of wattage in the sub.

I get iTunes error when I try to open iTunes 7 after installation. Don't know what to do.
Are you on Windows? If so, then do an uninstall, reboot and then reinstall.
Also, try uninstalling QuickTime if there are problems still.

Never gonna happen. Pretty much all politicians in the United States are bought and owned by corporate interest groups. And they're not out to help the average guy live a decent life. They're not gonna stop until they've destroyed the labour unions completely so they can bring our wages down even more. The minimum wage is already a joke but don't worry man, the day we're making just as much as a bangladeshi guy they'll be happy. That way they don't have to move factories to the far east, They can just build them right here in the massive suburban poverty stricken areas of the united states. Then We'll be making iPhones at sh.it wages for the rich easterners! Yeehow! America Number 1?!.......... No?
It's a sad world. If every country could just agree on laws that would secure a decent wage for everyone this sh.it wouldn't be going on.
I hate to break it to you, but if the most you can do with your life after being given a free education and a ton of opportunities is to stand there and weld metal or screw parts together, and if THAT is the absolute pinnacle of what you want to contribute to society, then perhaps "a decent life" isn't what you deserve. Until you can convince me that some guy who attaches windows to a car should make 3x the salary of a schoolteacher, social worker, drug counselor, or farmer AND get a pension which pays them 6 figures for life, I will never EVER buy that argument.

Gutted.. the Facebook app since the 3.0 update has really been looking good, and I'd love to see Hewitt evolve it even more.
Think Phil Schiller should send him an email just to thank him for developing so gracefully for the iPhone, explain the review process and reasoning behind it and then just wish him well in the future.
This is a PR blow, and Phil will have to do something or this could be damaging to the platform's future development.

Is that the verdict on the screw issue?
Yes, it is. The screw has always been there. I will say that ours is no longer flush like it was at first. Brushing your hand over it means you feel the screw whereas in May we could not. So, the screw may be more noticeable if this is true for others, as well. I could see it being very annoying for some.

Wow nice! That's a slick screen clock you have. What's it called?
I really hope you're being funny. You're a much more active member than I, but it's "fliquo.". Someone even has a sig stating something like, "the screensaver is fliquo, the answer is always fliquo."

This is not true. There is no specific assertion in the Old Testament of any triune nature of god.
I could type up a bunch of stuff, but this website (http://www.godandscience.org/apologetics/triunity.html) does a good job of covering all the bases regarding our difference of opinion on this matter. Here's two quick excerpts:
Jews say that the Shema (pronounced Shmah), "Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord"1 contradicts the Christian doctrine that Jesus is God. In addition, there are a number of other verses that proclaim that God is one (see God is One). However, the triunity of God is taught throughout the Old Testament, including the Shema! How can a statement of oneness imply plurality? The word translated "one" from the Hebrew is echad, which demonstrates compound unity of oneness.
and
Some of the verses above include all members of the triunity (Isaiah 42:1, Isaiah 48:16, and Isaiah 61:1). Therefore, the Old Testament does reveal the Christian concept of the Godhead, with God being one God, consisting of three persons.
Remember what I said in the beginning. Complete understanding of the old testament comes through knowledge gained by the revelation of the new testament. They really can't be separated in terms of understanding the whole of God's message and work throughout history. Additionally, for the average person (who cannot read Hebrew and is not familiar with Jewish history and doctrine) it could be difficult to see the trinity in the old testament. That's why I suggest to people that they invest in a study Bible, possibly a Bible Encyclopedia, and some commentaries. These additional tools can help bring out the contextual clues provided by the original languages, the historical context, and the skill of cross referencing within the Bible.
Of course not any interpretation is valid; however, the Bible is very complex and contradicts itself in places. There is no set interpretation that can said to be right, rather a spectrum that can be justified. "Clear" is not a word I would use.
Again, we'll just have to agree to disagree. The Bible does not contradict itself in it's overall message of God's revelation of himself and plan for restoring the relationship with man that was destroyed by sin. Sure there are differences of application and interpretation regarding secondary matters (food laws, sexuality, alcohol, etc. etc.) and that is why we have different denominations within the Christian faith. However, the primary matter of who God is, how he dealt with the problem of sin, and how he we are to treat one another is clear and without contradiction. That is why I feel confident in telling you that Westboro is "off the mark" because they are not following Christ's example with how they treat their fellow man and how they represent God to others.
I realize that, to you, what I'm about to say might be viewed as an issue of semantics or "word manipulation", but to a genuine follower of Christ there is no such thing as "my interpretation". I believe what God says in his word and if I am confused about something I look to other parts of scripture to help me get at the correct interpretation of what is confusing me. You see it doesn't matter what I think or what I wish it would say, I come to the Bible with no preconceived notions and let it stand on it's own.
This is obviously where we part ways. For me the Bible is the product of man. Nothing more.
I understand. In most, if not all, of these discussions the eventual impasse that arises is centered on the issue of faith. Some choose to believe, some don't. Some are open to putting God to the test, some are not.

Good god this thing is an ugly beast! From the side navigation panel to the scrollbars and buttons, to the Store itself - this has got to be the least asthetically appealing consumer app from Apple in a very long time. Windows XP style FTW!

this might be sweet if i could buy my text books in an e- format (though i'd probably load them into my MB before i would load them onto my ipod). but as it stands (with no option but to cause severe back problems for myself later in life), i'm really not interested in trying to read my ipod.
i want to LISTEN to MUSIC on it.
sheesh. first movies, now books? apple is trying to take over the world! :p ;)
