Not amused: Brand looked on in horror as the dancer performed her racy routine


They live together, shop together, cycle together and party together, so when Russell Brand tried to spend a bit of time away from Katy Perry, the last thing he wanted was a look-a-like of his fiancée to grab his attention.

The star was appearing as a guest on the Paul O'Grady Show on ITV1 last night and was shocked to see Coronation Street star Brooke Vincent suddenly appear on stage strutting her stuff in a very revealing outfit to Perry's California Gurls.

Wearing nothing more than sequin hotpants and a cup-cake bra, the scantily clad beauty performed the type of routine that helped fire the Teenage Dream singer to the top of the showbiz tree.

Brooke's saucy star turn was part of Paul's tongue-in-cheek attempt to take on BBC1's Strictly, which saw Brand joined on O'Grady's sofa by talk show legend Michael Parkinson and rapper Plan B.

Brooke was meanwhile performing as part of the show's All-Star Dance Spectacular.

Brand's appearance was part of a promotional tour for his second autobiography My Booky Wook 2: This Time It’s Personal. The book covers all aspects of his recent past,including the infamous Andrew Sachs fall-out and his first meeting with his soon-to-be wife.

In the book, which follows the success of his rather lurid first effort published in 2007, Brand says he fell in love with the American singer the moment she threw a plastic bottle at his head during rehearsals for last year’s MTV VMAs.

He writes: ‘The truth is I fell in love with her when she hit me with that bottle. From the first date, I changed.

‘No more women. Well, actually thousands of women. I wake up to a different one each day, they’re all her.

‘She chose me, bottled me and cuffed me. And now this is my life, my girl, this beautiful woman.’

The pair are expected to marry at the end of the year.
