Mini is on C2D because wasn't room (in case or pricepoint) for dedicated gpu.
Now that SB is out with an integrated gpu on par with the 320M you'll see it in the Mini soon enough.

You are assuming that the amount of spectrum available will never change. There's a reason they just shut off analog TV. Yes, spectrum is a finite resource, but they're shifting more to mobile voice/data very soon.
You are also assuming that all the frequencies available to each tower are already in use on that tower - that the towers are saturated. I think that's an unlikely assumption, outside very dense areas like Manhattan and DC. (And in Manhattan, you probably don't have the whole "can't get towers approved because of community opposition" problem because the towers are just installed on or in existing buildings, albeit at some expense; and you probably need a denser tower population anyway because of all the ground clutter; so a denser tower population probably already exists).
I imagine that the transceivers used on the towers have channel limits - that each transceiver can only handle a certain number of handsets k, within the limits of the number of available frequency sets n (the phone doesn't just use one frequency; I'm pretty sure they are spread-spectrum devices, so you are better off thinking of frequency sets rather than frequencies), and that k <<< n . That would explain AT&T;'s claims that their ongoing upgrades will mitigate the problem - they may be upgrading the transceivers on the towers so that each tower can use more of the frequencies theoretically available than has been true so far.
The other cell companies also have to segregate their frequencies from one another. If T-Mobile (the other GSM/3G carrier) isn't having this problem, it means either a. their network utilization is a lot lower, or b. they're doing something right and AT&T; is doing something wrong. That's also true with the CDMA carriers, of course, but I think they use different parts of the spectrum - and Verizon is a pretty big network.

Until this speculation is confirmed and Apple reveal what their plans really are, I'll reserve judgement on whether this is value for money or not. But it wouldn't surprise me if they do charge something. To not charge would mean adverts, I'd rather pay a small premium, much like a do with Mobile Me than have adverts. Each to their own though.

This is great news!
So more and more people will finally realise that running Mac OS X only is far, far, far cheaper, more stabile and less troublesome.
Way to go Microsoft, we love you! Please make Business Edition three times more expensive too, make software registration five time more complicated and annoying as hell, include more ironcurtain restrictions, so people can buy more and more Macs.

It has been brought to attention that Apple is encrypting certain parts of the OS kernel. Does this have any bearing in this discussion or it is only to make piracy of the OS more difficult?

It's only ****ing capitalism when Apple does something and has the audacity to charge for it. When any other company does it, it's just good business.
People will complain about anything.
I take it with a grain of salt, there's not that many people that are truly Anti-Apple, and those are the ones I don't care about anyway.
Bottom line, I get to enjoy lots of Apple gear, AND benefit as my stock skyrockets.
Now that, is the "Magic" of great Apple Hype, Marketing, and Influence.
Mikey's parents will buy him anything...ha..ha...ha...:D

Was unfortunately one of the MANY who didn't get anything today...
Originally thought about the 32GB 3G, but ultimately decided I wanted the 64 3G. Sadly, was waiting at the South Coast Apple Store and slowly heard them announce the 3G models all disappearing one by one.
Waited for 3 hours... not the longest I've waited, but still disappointing. Oh well, Online Ordering here I come!

No one will know that until they try installing Windows on a VM.
And, yes, the detection of a VM is simple, given a handful of VM vendors: just look for the VM "hardware" signatures they use. On activation, if any matching hardware is found, pop up a dialog stating "This license of Windows is not applicable to a virtual machine, such as. Activation failed. Please see www.microsoft.com/suckyoudry to enhance your license to allow activation on this virtual machine."
That is precisely what Activation is for: detecting invalid hardware (usually, hardware on which this copy of Windows was not activated, but in thi case also VM hardware) and stopping full use of the product on it. We can't say for certain that they will do this until it happens or someone from MS breaks the code of silence regarding this issue. But they certainly have the means to do it.

I think jumping on McDonald staff for this is pointless because what would the average person on the street do. Guess what stand by and do nothing and more than likely stare not sure what to do.
Reason why is that is not something we see very often if ever in our lives and it is so outside the norm that we are not sure what to do and we get stuck in a loop trying to figure out what to do. Normally by the time we finally decide to act it is all over. Look at the length of that event. It was over in matter of seconds.
In my personal life I had neighbored who would go at it sometime go at it and one night when I was getting home down the street I could see them yelling at each other and it did not look pretty. I kind of hide out of sight and watch trying to figure out what to do because A) I did not want to be dragged into it as I had to live near these people B) I was not sure what was going on. I saw what look like the guy threw a punch and I knew it took me a good 30 secs to even process the fact of did that really just happen.
Now quickly called the 911 and stated what I saw but I did not want to make a statement to the police as they lived above me and last thing I wanted was people around me being pissed off at me. I just wanted it to end. Cops showed up and I went inside the fight ended and no one was ever the wiser on who called. I never even gave my name to the police.
Point is even though I saw saw the yelling the punch still took me 30 secs to process and I still was not willing to risk my own body to get involved. I have feeling I was among the few out there who would of even really called the cops instead of just walking inside and pretending not to noticed.
As an added bonus the fights above me in the apartment did seem to stop and no more what sounded like someone being slammed around making me wish I called the cops sooner.

You're going to pay the same rate for your service regardless of subsidy status of your iPhone. Why pay $650 when you can pay $200?
If you have enough competition, some carrier will fill that niche and offer a noticeably cheaper plan for non-subsidised phones. And when that happens, a full-price (non-subsidised) phone + those plans normally turns out cheaper than a subsidised phone + higher rates.
For example, regulation making life easier for mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) is one way to enhance competition.
If you have enough competition, some carrier will fill that niche and offer a noticeably cheaper plan for non-subsidised phones. And when that happens, a full-price (non-subsidised) phone + those plans normally turns out cheaper than a subsidised phone + higher rates.

do you need to have a zillion gigabites free to use time machine in a decent way?
for example, if you have a 1 gigabite film, and u delete it 'putting it in the trash, and empty trash', it's still going to be on your hard drive, taking up space, right? and will it also save your cookies, bookmarks, deleted programs,
i rarely delete stuff by accident...so i hope this can be turned off, and won't interrupt much of my normal workflow, the way things are deleted now.
