Using aluminum would hinder the cellular reception wouldn't it ?

Ummm, you use AT&T; too, right? I couldn't imagine we'd see much of a difference :D

As for the Karma, I found a iPhone 4 at Macy's 2-days before shopping with my girlfriend, and I didn't think twice about not turning it in. I made this woman's day when she got it back. So I figured hey, maybe that was a little something I got for doing something honest a few days before

We all find creative ways to justify our actions.

P.S. The box surrounding the up/down buttons is baboon-ass ugly.
Web-surfing baboons might not agree with your assessment, but I'm pretty sure humans would. Those boxes are not supposed to be there.

I cant believe how much press Apple is getting. It was never like this before. IE. when the battery recall was on the news, the BBC/ITV were camped outside of Regent street's Apple store talking about the batteries and what went wrong and what not, even though Dell was involved too. Bit harsh I think.

But, it still suprises me about people and their iPods. I was at college the other day and someone had their iPod out. I pulled my first Gen iPod out my pocket and said "Now this is old school. You can only use this with a Mac" and the student said to me "Whats a Mac?"

After explaining that the iPod is made by a company called Apple, which has made PC's since the 70/80s, he then replied... "oooh, those computers are rubbish"

    yeah, whatever you say mate...

EDIT: sorry, just a rant really... but on topic!

why do they care for how you use it?Because you then sign a contract that says how you agree to use it. This is outside of that agreement. If you want to sign an agreement to use the data in a different way, I'm sure the carrier will accommodate you.
    That's not why.
    But get your wallet open.
    THAT is why.

Actually, how about a more humble mini revision with a SR chipset, better graphics and an eSATA port and keep the form factor that so many of us mini users love.

Also, in addition to the other things I mentioned in my previous post lets add a QT and iTunes update that support AC3 and DTS and a DVD player update that supports Blu-ray.

I'm sure I can think of a million others and none of what I say is actually in the interest of a good prediction. I am just creating a wish list.

When you come across a bit of information that seems to point to some sort of confirmation to a rumor do you read 9 pages of threads or do you just post it? I scolled through real quick to see if the image had been posted and didn't see it. Lay off.

It wasn't at you personally, it's just that everyone just finished bashing that exact thing when your post showed up. Bad timing really. :)

    Great ad.

I'm still hopeful that when my contract is up next year that I'll have choices than AT&T; to get an iPhone on. For the most part AT&T; has been fine where I currently live and work. However I'm been looking at homes in a different area of town and noticed I was getting horrible coverage.

What should I be willing to learn? That some people feel with every inch of their being that they were put in the wrong body?

I fully understand that and I am not about to argue it. I believe they deserve every right any other person is entitled to. I believe they are born this way and it is not a choice.

So what am I hesitant to "learn"?

Feral children think they are animals

What I find interesting is Apple gave a press conference which involved a largely scientific analysis and presentation, wherein they showed:

    - The antenna issue impacts 0.55% of users to the degree they expressed concerns.

    - The call loss issue is 1/100 or less, worse for the new 4 model than the prior 3GS model.

    - The attenuation issue is user impacted and minor behavioral issues can abate it almost entirely.

    - Case use was far higher on 3GS vs 4 which accounts for nearly 100% of the experienced issues, thus Apple offered free cases to 4 users who did not buy a case due to supply chain and availability issues.

    - The new antenna system is more sensitive, effective and has better actual reception than either the prior model or most other competitors.

    - The issue is largely in areas of poor reception to begin with. One factor in this is USA cell cites are less densely distributed than EU sites and the limits of GSM are more revealed here. We have more geographic area to cover so carriers have opted to solve the issue with near minimum density cell site distribution.

All of these factual, supported, known things are widely disregarded in headline style media reports that regurgitate the now disproven claim that Apple iPhone 4 has "an antenna problem", "reception issues", or "a dropped call problem". While there are limited and anecdotal examples of it, largely reproducable from known conditions, there is no there there on an overall and general basis.

    Rocketman

    What he said.

Call me crazy, but my iPhone 4 works great. The minority consisting of me and the other 98.6% of iPhone 4 users probably just hasn't seen the problem yet, right?

Well I went to the Mall of America Apple Store (Bloomington Minnesota) that opened at 6am CST, bought a Macbook, and have since returned home.

I was the first person in the store at the register, and the 1st to buy a computer today at that store :)

    I got the C2D 1.83 GHZ (Base model ;) ) for $1062.87 out the door :) .

I wish the next iPhone could look like this, but all one has to do is look at how incredibly ugly the iPad 3G model is with it's disgusting black plastic ass, to know that no recently designed iPhone model is anywhere near becoming all aluminum. It just doesn't work. The first iPhone tried to do this, looked exactly like the iPad 3G does 3 years later, and still had a ton of connectivity issues. Does anyone believe Apple wanted to abandon that gorgeous design after only one year? Nope. They had to. They got away with terrible reception during a time when it could be blamed on AT&T;, and Edge was all it could connect to. To make an impact with the iPhone 3G, and actually improve things, more than the radio had to change...the entire case did. This, the plastic iPhone casing, is not going away any time soon. Don't even expect to change, even slightly.

In fact, anyone expecting a case redesign of any kind for the iPhone is sorely mistaken, and completely out to lunch.

Regardless of the validity, I personally think the chances are very high for a unibody type iPhone, it only makes sense. Apple did a unibody macbook (plastic). Its Apple, everything standardizes and is consistent, otherwise Steve's head will explode.

What the hell would you call the current iPhone design, 2 years running? (other than a unibody plastic design)...

Bigger sensor requires bigger lens and bigger lens requires bigger housing. With Apple, you are not going to get this. If you look for bigger sensor -check Nokia or Sony phones.

While I agree to an extent, Engadget put the iPhone 4 against a majority of the major smartphone's and the only one to even come close in camera quality was the Nokia N8.

I find it hilarious that Steve Jobs claimed Apple was not tracking users, but now all of a sudden we find Location tracking being completely removed from this version of iOS, that is honestly something that annoyes me..

It should annoy you, and everyone, because its a ridiculous shell game. Smart people know this, but smart people aren't the majority on blogs.
