When Simon Cowell took Mezhgan Hussainy on a spin through St Barts, he preferred to go it alone.
If his bride-to-be had visions of snuggling up behind him riding pillion then she must have been disappointed.
The X Factor judge left Miss Hussainy, 37, trailing in his wake as they cruised around the streets on matching quad bikes.
Cowell, 51, flew out to the Caribbean last month for his annual winter break, accompanied by two ex-girlfriends, Sinitta and Jackie St Clair. Miss Hussainy, however, stayed behind in England.
She finally arrived at his £625,000-a-week super-yacht just before Christmas. But the cruise around Barbados, Grenada, Antigua and St Barts has not been easy sailing apparently.

Cowell asked her to marry him on Valentine’s Day last year but they have yet to set a date for the wedding.
He has, however, agreed to allow Miss Hussainy, a make-up artist, to move into his West London mansion next month – 18 months after they first began dating.
