Master of disguise: Justin Bieber was fooling no-one in a large moustache and glasses at the Critics' Choice Awards in Hollywood on Friday

Despite his large fake moustache and big glasses, Justin Bieber wasn't fooling anyone as he made his red carpet reporting debut at the Critics' Choice Awards.

Perhaps he should have changed his distinctive brushed forward hairstyle if he was going to stay incognito.

The16-year-old Canadian-born singer wore his disguise throughout the evening as he conducted a series of celebrity interviews at the Hollywood ceremony on Friday.

Wearing a bow tie over a black shirt and jeans, the singer seemed a natural as he spoke to the likes of Tim Roth, John Legend and Elle Fanning.

'I can't believe I just got interviewed by Justin Bieber,' Elle told VH-1 on the red carpet.

At one point, the star couldn't resist showing off some of his signature dance moves as he waited for his next interview on the carpet.

He seemed to be enjoying his disguise, later tweeting: ' if u cant laugh at yourself u cant have fun.'

Bieber was one of several young stars who made a big impression at the ceremony, held at the Hollywood Palladium.

Elle Fanning, 12, looked every bit as glamorous as some of her older contemporaries as she dazzled in a Valentino gold number.

While 14-year-old True Grit star Hailee Steinfeld looked equally chic in a pale pink knee-length dress and gold shoes.

Steinfeld ended up picking up the Best Young Actress gong for her role in the Coen Brothers Western.
