4200rpm is dog-slow. Go for the 5400rpm drive and use the money you saved for a nice big FW800 external HDD.
Kinda pissed that I just bought 2 external FW400 drives 2 weeks ago. Hesitated on the FW800 but I didn't see myself buying the 17". Today I got the new C2D and it comes with FW800. Grrr....:(

People get beat up for no reason all the time. It doesn't have to do anything with bullying or the victim being a transgender. From what the victim said, the attackers used a standard "excuse" to start a fight. ("Why are you talking to my man?", if I understood correctly.)

If you want to argue that most "Chefs" that love food and make great foods full of flavors and preparation are fat, look really closely at chefs. Most are not fat at all, I'd say the proportion is the same as in the normal population.
I concur 100%. I work as a chef and I was slightly underweight last time I checked. In the two kitchens I work in, no-one is overweight. One girl looks a bit plump, but I doubt very much she is overweight as she is a tall girl. Then again... I don't really love food. Being a chef is just a job for me.

If it's taking you two minutes to resume a session and two minutes plus to suspend it, on that machine you mentioned the specs of, something is frickin' wrong with that machine.
2.16 Core 2 Duo 20" iMac here, 2GB, stock 250GB drive, Parallels does the following:
- it cold starts in 4 seconds
- it boots my XP VM (512MB of RAM/8GB virtual hard disk) to the Desktop in 9
- it suspended that same XP VM in 14
- it restored that same XP VM in 11
And that's with Crossover for Mac running several Windows apps in the background too, so some of my resources are already drained when I fired up Parallels and the VM. Memory usage at the moment for the entire machine is sitting at 1154MB of 2048MB, 69 tasks, 330 threads as measured by MenuMeters.
So, give that box a tuneup or whatever, because you're certainly not getting the performance from Parallels that you should be getting. Also, check your VT-x flags under Parallels to make sure it's functioning properly.
btw, this is Parallels build 1970, the latest and greatest, and I've had nothing but positive usage of Parallels since I bought it off the shelf in an Apple Store along with this iMac a month ago. 3 upgrades so far, no issues at all.

I wish they offered the 120GB HDD i dont need 160, but 100 is too little, 120 is just right + would save me nearly �60
I already have 2 160GB FW400 Drives so I'm more interested in speed than internal capacity.
However you might down the road decide you want the 160GB (needs change) and wished the opposite!

Apple refurbed are the best you can find in most cases.
Apple never puts previously damaged hardware on the refurbed store, only open boxed then returned products, or products at End Of Life (EOL). You will find TONS of the previous models on there for 15% off or more.
Any damaged goods always get parted out and used as Genius Bar parts for repair.

It is tough to judge completely without seeing week & month views, but I don't like this at all. I hope we see a little less time making iCal look better (which IMO has been wasted effort--yuck!) and a little more time making things like the task list much more productive, let alone fully sync-able with all iOS devices. I'm not a big fan of Outlook as a mail or calendar app, but I love the way it handles tasks. (At least as of the last version of Outlook I used, which is probably 2 revisio

The UV protection necessary for the white iPhone didn't come out of thin air. The added thickness was likely to provide an additional layer of protection. I'd be curious to see its innards, which is no doubt just around the corner. C'mon iFixit, rip it apart!

MacWorld, quarterly report and market in general. Expectations of MacWorld beyond reality and can't top iPhone. Quarterly report also not up to predictions.
To be correct - it wasn't so much the quarterly earnings but the outlook. There is a huge concern in the market that the US economy is not only slowing down but heading towards a regression.
What is everybodys guess ? How deep will they fall ? Below $108 ? Below $125 ? I already have some and want to buy more. Its always nice to hit the low point.
