Sweet treat: Lady Gaga, pictured here performing at the O2 in Dublin on Tuesday, surprised her fans today

She's known for loving her fans whom she calls her 'little monsters', but today in Dublin Lady Gaga took it a step further and surprised a group of her followers with a sweet treat.

Sending her security guard outside her hotel to count heads, the singer then sent out hot chocolate to each person.

The thrilled fans were delightedly posing for pictures with their drinks, making 'monster' poses.

On tour in Europe for the past few weeks, Lady Gaga has been causing quite a stir with her trademark outrageous outfits, attracting plenty of attention from fans.

Another fan she ran into this week was David Furnish, Sir Elton John's husband.
Gaga was recording a duet with Sir Elton called Hello, Hello, which will feature in a new Disney film, Gnomeo and Juliet.

Tweeting a picture of herself with Furnish, the blonde star tweeted: 'The Union is the album he put out this week so I will celebrate the music w David, Elton, and wine.'

Gaga's career continues to go from strength to strength.

The star has set a new record for YouTube, having racked up more than one billion overall views of her material on the video-sharing website.

Tweeting to her seven million followers on Twitter this week, she said: 'We reached one billion views on YouTube little monsters!'

Gaga's Monster Ball Tour has been described by the songstress as a 'pop-electro opera'. To date critics have been impressed by the theatricality of the show, comparing it to the tours of artists including Madonna.

She has been mixing acoustic numbers with more up-tempo numbers, changing costume regularly.

Dressing room demands apparently include an oxygen tank, two bottles of white wine, some manuka honey and organic ginger and lemongrass tea.

Lady Gaga's huge entourage of dancers meant the singer booked out a large number of rooms at the exclusive Dublin hotel, the Four Seasons, where the lucky hot chocolate recipients waited.

The hotel also had a small number of other requests including that a bikram yoga and pilates expert be available round the clock.

Gaga has revealed she likes to wind down by working out after a show sometimes, but now she's in Dublin, she won't have much difficulty finding her other favoured wind-down - Jameson's Irish whiskey.
