To be honest, I hate Pitchfork - they only seem to value indie music. While I love Arcade Fire and Stars, I do like to listen to slightly more mainstream music too.
It almost seems like Pitchfork will automatically rate an album between 4.8 and 6 if it's by a rock artist. I guess it's their opinion, but I'd like to see positive reviews of other music every once in a while.

I've always had decent luck with the M-Audio Oxygen series. Worth a shot, and not too terribly expensive. I don't believe they have weighted keys, but they're all velocity-sensitive.

I'm not interested in the phone, as I already have my own soon-to-be-outdated iPhone. ;)
But I had to comment on your avatar. Scrubs is my favorite TV program of ALL time!
Awesome show.

I can't remember how many pics it will hold but it's in the 1200 range. I just don't like being on vacation and needing to backup...or atleast as often. And I want to point out the fact that cr2sh said this thing is SMALL. You can easily fit it into a pack of cigarettes or roughly compare it to an ipod(little thicker). This camera definitly fits into the highly portable category.

Since no examples were given, I have to say: USE COMIC SANS FOR EVERYTHING.
Seriously, each document/logo/presentation needs deep consideration of the audience, corporate branding, etc., to choose a font. This usually isn't a "throw a dart and choose a font" type of thing...

Hi, I want to put some CD's that I purchased on my iTunes to put on my iPod. The only problem is that I am getting a new laptop soon, my BlackBook is dyeing.)))): Well, so far I have bought all my music on iTunes, but it's so expensive. I bought many CD's like I said, and I'm putting them on iTunes. When I plug the iPod into a new computer, it would ask me if I wanted to transfer my purchases. And everything that I bought would transfer. The songs that I got from other websites wouldn't transfer. But If I import the CD's through iTunes, will it still transfer to the new computer? Or do they have to be bought from iTunes?
Thank You!
Thank You!

It appears that OS X will truncate any password longer than 7 characters to only 8 characters. In other words, it's an 8-character overflow. This problem is global in that it affects the Login Window, Screen Effects, Keychain Access, and even network logon security. For anyone with long password phrases that have easily-guessable words in the first 8 characters, this is a problem. Since "MacintoshOSXIsMoreSecureThanMicrosoftWindows" only needs to be entered as "Macintosh", gaining unauthorized access is very simple with a common name attack. Of course, we all have passwords that are a combination of letters and numbers, including a mix of upper- and lower-case characters. ;)

Am I the only one who feels this way?
If you are an iPhone 4 owner, then yes I think you are the only one who feels this way. Or maybe you bought a lemon.

I just recently purchased the xion audio profile lp player which as a usb connector. I know its not professional level equipment.
I have been dabbling around with it and I have it connected to cd spin doctor. When its time to save the imported audio the following options are presented
aif/aiff
linear pcm, 8 bit big-endian signed integer
linear pcm, 16 bit big-endian signed integer
linear pcm, 24 bit big-endian signed integer
linear pcm, 32 bit big-endian signed integer
wav

linear pcm, 32 bit big-endian floating point

u-law 2:1
a-law 2:1
apple mpeg4 audio
aac
mpeg4 high efficiency aac
mpeg4 low delay aac
apple lossless
After being imported the songs will be imported to itunes and played there and on an ipod.
so my questions are
Is audacity better than cd spin doctor for such a simple project
Is there a way to find out the quality of the audio that comes in on the usb cable from the vinyl player?
What format should the source files be saved in?
thanks in advance

So I have often wondered why this happens. Some fonts (including Candara) shift the baseline (or something) of some numbers and I have no idea why. Does anyone know why? I have attached a photo so you can see what I mean..

If his phone is being synced over-the-air with Exchange, then make sure that "Sync Address Book Contacts" is unchecked in iTunes.

for a moment I thought they were going to sell spymac bags, hats sunnies and cuff links! But I guess not. Then I thought maybe they'd made a movie, but no.
Then it almost looked like they would show us some new web features... 'fraid not.
I've been sitting here trying to work out what to infer from this trailer... could it be that only knobs use spymac? but a lot of knobs.
edit: I don't mind spymac, despite the trailer

Well, if you don't need edit away from home the iMac would be better just cause of it's specs and screen size. The macbook air would work if you needed to edit on-the-go. Also if you have a large amount of photos/videos the iMac could hold it all. With the mba you most likely would need to bring along a portable external hdd.

Hi:
I have a pickerview with two dependent component that use a dictionary. All work fine but i want show two result in two label according with your selecction in the picker.
How i can do that??

Not 100% sure what you're looking for. Are you looking to extract the values from the picker or overlay the labels.

Hey I'm looking into buying a preferably new Macbook or Macbook Pro. I need one soon as I'm moving out for my freshman year of college. The things I'm mainly concerned about is 500+GB, 4GB RAM, and 2.4+Ghz. I was wondering what might be some good places to begin looking for the right laptop.
Maybe something like this (http://www.buy.com/prod/13-3-macbook-intel-core-2-duo-2-4ghz-4gb-ram-500gb-hard-drive-nvidia/q/sellerid/31064376/loc/101/217650314.html)?
Or this (http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/shop_mac/family/macbook_pro?mco=MTM3NDc0NDI)? (2nd option, for $1,499.00)
Also how important is the Processor? What should I look for? Currently I have a Intel Core 2 Duo, but I know theres new ones such as Quad, i5, i7, etc.

In general, FileVault is useless, IMHO. You are better off using Disk Utility to create a password protected Disk Image and storing personal information there.
As for optimizing - I don't know if you can force it to optimize, but it should ask you again if you logout/shutdown.
