By nature of being one of the biggest games in the console space, it is also going to have one of the largest groups of people who are d-bags. Add more nice players to your friends list, and set your voice settings to "Team Only" and move on. Not hard to do.
"Move on"? :( Seems kind of testy.
I just made an observation of how tired that answer has seemed to become.
My point being, playing with randoms is inevitable, and a necessity. After all, if one didn't play with randoms, how would one meet 'nice players' to add to your friend's list? I imagine it isn't hard to do, but Live seems to be made to play with players from all over. Playing games with only friends, seems to be rather counter productive. The issue being that Halo proportionately seems to have a greatest number of jerks playing, as compared to say other games. The shame is that even Bungie realized the crappier part of their community, and made such settings as hearing only your team, or even an option to mute all other players.
Ah well, one has to take the good with the bad. See you online. :)

who cares? dell's are cheap enough that you can buy a 15" model every year and after 3 years still spend less $$$ than a MBP with Apple Care
So that's how Dell has been staying a float by selling you a 15" model every year. :p

Most iPods are used in situations where our eyes aren't free to focus on a screen however good--commuting, jogging, biking or whatever. To compete with ebooks from Sony and others, this ebook iPod needs to be able to read text aloud as well as display it on screen.
It also needs to bookmark text and audio files well, so we can resume where we left off and shift between reading and listening without losing our place. And that means multiple bookmarks, not just a mark for the last place we were. (Marking text like a post-it note would also be a plus.)
In addition, iTunes needs to be able to download text books and newscasts (free and by subscription) as easily and automatically as it now does podcasts. Pushing content is always better than pulling it.
Those are things existing ebooks don't do. Add those features to an ebook iPod, and Apple will be miles ahead of the competition. Sony and (soon) Microsoft will be eating their dust.

Cue iTunes promo with "Come Together" as the soundtrack! (Or maybe "The Long and Winding Road")
Oh there are soooo many good songs for the promo's:
Ticket to Ride
We can work it out
I want to hold your hand
Let it be
Please please me
You've got to hide your love away
Revolution **** My guess for an early promo!
You never give me your money
Don't pass me by
BRING IT!!! :D

Where did you get that chair. If you have the link please link it in here. I know many people would like one.
I got it from Ikea. Here is the link to the UK Ikea site:
http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/20103101
Not sure if it is available internationally but I can't see any reason why not.
It's a really nice chair and I especially like the excellent lumbar support and useful headrest (I'm 5ft10 so YMMV). The breathable backrest is also good to avoid a sweaty back if sitting for a while.
Edit: Just checked, the Orlando Ikea store has 15 of these chairs in stock at $199 each. :)

This message is addressed to the folks that say the new Nano is just like the Mini.
The new Nano, while sharing similarities to the old Mini, is a newly designed iPod.
Check here for a comparison:
http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/firstlooks/
Need to scroll down 2/3-3/4 way down the page.
For clarification, I am not saying that the new Nano and old Mini do not share similarities. But look at the size and shape difference. Also realize the new Nano is flashed based with more space (8GB model) than the original Mini with HD. Additionally, better display, longer battery life, etc. Sure they share the same connector. That is a standard on all models except the Shuffle.
Personally I think that the new Nano looks great. Looking forward to colors at the 8GB model level sometime down the road.

Siri is powered by Nuance' speech recognition engine! That translates to very efficient speech transcription, much better than Google's, for example (N.B.: The first version of Nuance Dictate was an absolute nonsense; it couldn't recognise a word out of ten of proper English, but the subsequent iterations were improved immensely).

I really like this. All of the lines seem to point to the centre which adds a good dynamic and the slight warping in the pylon is just perfect.
Thanks for your kind words - I had to get ankle deep in mud to take that picture, so I'm glad someone appreciated it.

The President's opinion on the matter...
I personally don't give a flying "eff" what our current co-opted president thinks about this subject. He's proven quite capable of toe-ing the same company line which has brought us here in the first place.
Would you like to hear what former president Eisenhower had to say on the issue?

Either scalpers have swooped in or there are a lot more geeks that just want to attend the conference.
I was seriously disappointed when I attended last years one, the Apple engineers couldn't answer either of my questions, the presentations only reaffirmed what I already knew or pointed to documentation / demo code that every developer got for free anyway.
If you are a serious developer and want to attend the conference to actually learn its a serious disappointment. But I guess most conferences are just to network and geek it up which is why it sold out I guess.
What were your questions?
I was trying to add external display support to my iOS wireless collaborative drawing app (http://www.greengar.com/apps/whiteboard/), but I had run into a few problems. At WWDC I was able to work with 2 Apple engineers until we solved it. It was awesome; definitely worth it.

It certainly is silly. People UPGRADING to Vista, as you just said, aren't going to buy the full retail $399 box. That's stupid. They are going to buy the Upgrade or oem.
I think M$FT completely sucks as a company. They are a necessary evil that I can deal with (just like many other corporations) and if they piss me off too much I will stop purchasing their products like I've done with other companies.
The problem with so many Mac appologists is that they are incapable of having an honest debate. You and snowy could rightly argue against the $259 upgrade price of Vista Ultimate or the ~$180 OEM price of Vista ultimate but you don't. You and others like you would rather be disingenous and go on and on about the $399 retail box version that very few will buy.
If people are upgrading from XP to Vista they will buy the software at the upgrade price or the oem price. You apparently didn't notice, but I did not even mention a $399 retail price, let alone "spout off" about it. If you go back and read what I wrote, you might note that I talked only about the value of the $99 basic Vista upgrade, and that a Windows XP user would have to spend considerably more to get not only (1) some of the more important features Microsoft is advertising for Vista that distinguish it from XP, and (2) features comparable to those that come with every install of OSX.
If you care to respond to those points, then by all means, please feel free.

A new 24-inch iMac with a brilliant 24-inch widescreen display joins the 17- and 20-inch models, and iMac prices now start at just $999
In case you guys were wondering (I had to search around a little), the res on the 24"er is 1900x1200.

In other words, it is perfectly natural for a believer to think that people are inherently bad. Quite a fine starting point, that. Life itself is continual penitence for something you had no part in. Only by praying, tithing and doing "god's work" can you overcome the hideous burden of your ancestry.
For many Christians, doing "god's work," praying, and tithing doesn't do jack squat if you don't accept Jesus as your personal savior.

what do you think it means?
And i called apple, they basically told me tough luck right now and i will have to wait basically till tomorrow to check the website because they are still updating it
Because the tech tried to input everything on his side and it wouldn't accept it either.
Does it mean that apple takes your battery back whether you like it or not? Because it might explode?

That's HOT (figuratively and literally)!! I think the only way you could pull that off is with an external tuner, just like laptops have an external power supply.
Does a TV tuner add THAT much heat? Plus, with 23" of real estate to play with I would think that they could find a way to keep the heat down

you're that annoying friend that shows up at a party and everyone has to be nice to him, and then as soon as you leave everyone talks about how abrasive you are.
that is the worst kind of friend.
Actually, the people I hang out with have some degree of character and intelligence.
ETA: And also, most of them are gay. The straight people I hang out with probably wouldn't say "that's so gay". For those who did, I would just explain why it bothers me; they would just think about it for a second and realize what they were doing. It's really pretty straightforward.

IMHO, 3D is the crappiest piece of technology since a long time...
3D movies are blurrier than regular HD non-3D movies, they give headaches
and 3D on the new portable Nintendo 3DS is kind of lame
i really don't want Apple to fall into this kind of ****** trend, just because it's a trend
it seems to me that manufacturers are not giving the choice of the consumer anymore: what if people don't want 3D devices ?
we will probably lose 1 or 2 years during which companies will lose money because their products will be failures until they'll start to understand they should probe the market before releasing unwanted piece of crap/tech
i will probably buy the ipad 2 soon, because if the rumor comes true, then i will totally deny the ipad 3(D)

Yes. Failure to report to our masters in Cupertino will result in a squad of nerds in brown and black cloaks to appear at your door armed with swords, demanding you exchange your old battery for the one they bring you.
