Cutting NPR and Union collective bargaining rights are not going to solve our fiscal mess.
I laugh at this topic...because it's been yapped about for weeks..."just cut NPR and we'll save $40 million!" Wow...$40mill out of trillions. Yeah, great concept. Why don't we cut out public museums, libraries, and parks while we're at it.
I actually listen to NPR...basically because it's on the classical station I tune into. NPR may be a bit on the Democrat side, but overall I find the stories are at least real news...while offering both sides of the argument.

Great update for these. The aluminum is much more durable on iPods. My wife's mini was great!......now we'll have to get one of these :)
When I saw the official pictures the new iPod Nano does look like a reduced-size iPod Mini. :)
But here's the question though: when we see protective cases for the new Nano? :confused:

Sorry to single you out, but I'm sick of posts like this for one reason - Apple would not have flash on the iPhone WITHOUT AN OPTION TO TURN IT OFF. In fact that'd likely be the default and I'd have it set that way until the times I want to see streaming videos. So what exactly is the problem here?

Wal-Mart is unethical in this. iTunes is the #1 music download site by 65,987,234 light years, but does Apple say, "Your music cannot be sold at Wal-Mart or Best Buy if it is going to be sold here."? This is piss poor management. I would want my vendors to WANT to do business with me because MY STORE offers a superior experience for the customer, not because I force them to. Wal-Mart needs to do 3 things.
1) Drop this now.
2) Clean the f#$%king floor.
3) Demand that all female employees shave their mustaches.

Over the weekend, even Defense Secretary Robert Gates admitted that America has no vital interest in Libya.Uh yeah. Saw that on Meet the Press. Paul is only telling a half-truth. Gates went on to say that other NATO countries felt they have a vital interest in Libya, and I think we all understand how the NATO treaty works. Whether or not you believe or agree with that, the fact is that Paul misrepresented Gates' statement.

But they can't even say it's dead or anything is missing, because the demo is so limited.
The images we see are limited ... and are showcasing new things... that doesn't mean one can't turn the viewer on.

While many people are looking for Apple to integrate a radio tuner into the iPod it isn't going to happen.
I would prefer the option to grab a quick weather forecast, news headline or actually hear a song I don't own once in a while, but that's not the iPod way. The iPod is all about your content not someone else's.

Seriously, The Beatles were great, I would think by now most people have their songs. How many Lp's and Cd's they sold? How many Millions.
The only positive thing from this outcome is that Apple Corps will stop filling lawsuits against Apple Computer. Besides that, I see no point as this being a big deal.

I get it- as a wife, I was the one buying the iPads, with money I make in my consulting business. However, my husband would have not been pleased if it was blowing all of our discretional income without discussing it first...
In this case, since he gets my iPad 1, he is happy, and he's thrilled that I've made enough $ through my p/t job to afford to do this.
Marriage is all about mutual responsibility. And while he "asks" me before buying stuff for his wood workshop, I don't ever think I would say "no"- depending on the expense it might only be "not now". Our unspoken rule is if it's a non-essential over about $200, the other spouse should be advised and gets a courtesy ask. Keeps us both happy.
I'm a guy, but I think its reasonable to discuss major purchases with your spouse. Of course it goes both ways. She can't just go out and drop $500 on shoes/purses/girls nights out without discussing it. And if one spouse is a stay at home parent, they still get a say in managing the household expenses. It is a mutual respect issue.

I don't shop at WalMart, and stories like this are the reason why. Sam's Club, screw them too. Last time I was in a WalMart, which was years ago, the vibe was just weird. I don't mean to offend anyone but it was trashy and cheap and I felt like some hillybilly standing at an intersection where I could buy a DVD player(by some company I never heard of) for $45, generic cheese puffs, fishing poles, or some crappy sandals.
