I called my local verizon store. girl told me she would only sell an original ipad bundled with their mifi. Forget it.
They tried to sell the mifi to me as well, along with cases, keyboard, etc. I just told them I was going to tether, and got, "well you know you have to pay for that." They funny thing is that I have an AT&T; iphone, so why would she care.
Verizon clearly lists the price of the unit without the mifi, so the girl was trying to strong arm you into something to help her sales.

Best Buy and Radio Shack both have iphones in stock and for sale, kinda funny AT&T; made a mistake like that when trying to order one.

This is the primary design flaw with the iPad. This tablet can't be the normal person's computer unless every normal person has a tech friend/relative to keep the tablet working/updated. So while Woz is correct that the tablet will be the normal person's computer, Apple's iPad is not yet that tablet.
I'd say that's also the primary design flaw of the PC, although it wasn't very hard to overcome. Every normal person DOES tend to have a tech friend/relative just to keep their PC working/updated. I'm that tech friend/relative in most of my social circles, and if you're posting here, you're sure to be one too.

I think you both just said exactly the same thing, so I'm not sure why Full of Win is arguing?
If I shoot my 50mm 1.8 II through my 7d I am effectively multiplying the lenses focal length with the cameras crop factor to give the photographs field of view. ie 50x1.6=80.
So focal length 50mm= field of view 80mm. (On a 1.6 crop)

You will, in fact, get two different Field of Views but the same Focal Length.

If it turns out this is correct, then 4GB onboard memory is quite an upgrade over the 512MB in the previous incarnation. I'm convinced that the Arcade S will be glossy white. Amazon seem to have changed the page slightly, as it was showing a price of €148.99.

How the hell did you guys elect that fool? I'm even more concerned for you Canadians now. I got no good answer for you Lee, I didn't vote for that party. Maybe the minority position of the last two conservative government gave them a softer image than before, maybe it was due to the lack of a strong Liberal leadership, maybe people were tired of going to the polls and wanted a 4 year break... It may out eye candy OS-X,but it's still Windows. If you put a dress on a pig,it's still a pig ;)..Not to mention the fact that a large % of PC's out there aren't even capable of running it.So if somebody has a choice to make of either getting a new PC to run Vista,or switch to OS-X??Things could get interesting this coming year...

Hell, the Shrub's plane ride to the "Mission Accomplished" banner probably cost more than two years' funding for NPR.

Why such a negative response? The software out there sucks... more competition means more quality. Sound design needs some major upgrades. It needs to more innovate.
There is absolutely nothing new or innovative about this software. Adobe have pulled a small portion out of a superior program, Audition, and slapped a bit of marketing chat on top to produce a half arsed application that's market is already saturated with adequate basic audio editors - Particularly on the Windows side, which lets remember, will probably make the most profit for Adobe anyway.
I'm complaining because I don't just want this small portion, I want Audition in full for OS X, as many others clearly do. If they can port the original code base for SoundBooth, then certainly can for Audition.
If it is an entirely new application.

FWIW, I discovered today that HairerSoft is working on a pro version of Amadeus. It is only available as a beta at this point, but I have downloaded it for experimentation. Apparently, they have added multitrack support. You can learn more here: http://www.hairersoft.com/AmadeusPro/AmadeusPro.html
I haven't had a chance to install it yet, but I am hoping it works...

It seems these ads are almost a carbon copy of US versions which are translated into Japanese.

I think there are some clues in the Dev build that point the way to the kind of 'cool' you allude to. While the face of the OS is the same for now, Apple has put the parts in place to either A) pop a new level of GUI goodness into 10.5 or B) allow developers to do it themselves.
The key to all this is Core Animation, which may end up being the biggest announcement at WWDC this year. Core Animation enhancements to the application Help menu, for example, indicate a totally new GUI direction. Floating 3D arrows point out features as you browse them with your mouse. The Time Machine interface similarly shows there are a lot of new and interesting GUI possibilities thanks to Core Animation.
