Colourful: The Saturdays line-up as the signing of their new book Our Story at the WHSmith store in Bluewater shopping centre

With Girls Aloud on hiatus and Sugababes taking a step back, The Saturdays are quickly establishing themselves as Britain's biggest girl group.

And as evidence of their growing popularity, the five-piece were mobbed by fans when they attended a signing of their new book at the Bluewater shopping centre in Kent yesterday.

Over 600 fans queued for hours - tailing back to the mall's car park - for the chance to get up close to their idols Mollie King, Una Healy, Frankie Sandford, Vanessa White and Rochelle Wiseman.

The Missing You stars were signing copies of The Saturdays: Our Story in the Bluewater branch of WHSmith and were stunned by their rapturous reception.

After arriving at 2pm, the group were amazed to see a line of hundreds of people winding around the shopping centre.

Rather than their previous identikit fashion ensembles, each bandmate went for dramatic different styles and colours.

While Frankie went for a sophisticated grey jersey dress, Irish singer Una went for a flamboyant grey, pink and yellow floral top and skinny leggings.

Will they conquer the bestsellers charts? A music No.1 has eluded them, but maybe they'll get a No.1 book...

And there was no chance of missing Rochelle in her Sixties-style fuchsia shift dress.
Writing on her Twitter page after the signing, Rochelle said: 'Thanks so much to everyone that came to our signing today I can't believe how many of you there were... wow.

'Thanks so much to everyone that came to our signing today. I can't believe how many of you there were.'

Her bandmate Vanessa admitted she was suffering from writer's cramp after signing so many copies of their book.

She wrote: 'Thanks so much to everyone that came down today! Was the best! My hand is killing me now.'

Mollie, 23, was besieged with gifts by some of her fans, including a personalised book, necklace, earrings and cupcakes.

She wrote on her Twitter page: 'Thank you SO SO much to everyone who came out today! It really means so much! I was totally overwhelmed!

'Your gifts are AMAZE too, thank you!

The five piece's new book, entitled Our Story, combines both their individual stories and the story of the group as a whole.

It also comes with personal photos and fashion and beauty tips and is on sale now.
