Howdy. I have a Logitech G5, Logitech G9, and Razer Lachesis. I love 'em all but none has a Mac driver. :(
Do you use a laser mouse? If so, which do you use?
(I don't game, but the higher sensitivity works nicely for larger screen resolutions and some graphic design)

I use a Apple Magic Mouse.. which is a laser mouse, and works fantastically (as youd expect) with Mac OS X.

Those kinda stories are comforting to hear as an iBook owner, mine hasnt suffered any serious trauma yet.......

I used to be a professional musician and recently decided to get back into doing some demo tracks. I have an fully loaded MacBook Pro with Garage Band. I took the GarageBand course, bought a little M-Audio Keyboard and procuced two original tunes; great! Now however, I want to go a bit further so I went into B&H; Electronics in NYC and bought the Tascam (model above). The sales person told me that I would be able to plug my Yamaha and Kruzweil keyboards into the unit and that the voices from these instruments could be recorded into GarageBand. Same with the microphone and my harmonic decoder. So far, the only thing I have bee able to do is record my Ovation Guitar. I cannot get the device to recognize my keyboards or my microphone. I am ready to return it. Does anyone out there have any experience on how to make this device work?

Nice shot, would be nice if there were less clouds around the mountain as it covers a lot of it up and is distracting. Plus would use just a very slight increase in vibrancy just to make the colours pop a bit more. also slightly increase contrast through Levels... again only a touch. that's only from my personal point of view though. "Plays nicely with the MAC" doesn't give a lot of information about what you're planning to use to edit on the Mac.
In general, however, most cameras shoot video that is made for playback, not editing. So, if you're planning to use FCP to edit, FCP can import many different formats and convert them to formats made for editing. In addition, there are free and not-free programs that can assist in converting your camera format to an editing format.
If you can provide more information about your needs, you'll probably get more informative responses.

I had the 400 iMac DV SE, and I just put in a 500MHz w/ a better grphx card (was on the 500mhz mobo) and it runs like a charm. Just get the mobo off eBay and there ya go! ;)

To anyone who has experience or has worked at Apple can you give me the positions of a retail store by rank? like genius, specialist, store manager being #1 obviously, etc. Also which position requires additional training such as going to Cupertino.

2nd Lowest - hourly sales rep(paid low.. like 10 or 9 an hour)
Middle - Product Specialist
The highest being Genius at almost 20 dollars an hour...
The ABSOLUTE HIGHEST - General Manager of the retail store.. and of course the top is: DISTRICT MANAGER.
Personally, I hate RETAIL as it takes away time from family and other important tasks one needs.. Plus I prefer 9-5 with weekends off. I am an Administrator for a small, family size firm and my hours are not retail.. been there done that - retail has no future, and from what I heard how reps are treated in an apple retail store, a lot complain about the pay which is too low and with gas prices going sky high and food prices also(recession ISN'T OVER, but RE-GENERATING), its impossible to survive on the rate of pay for a retail sales rep.
If you want to make it in the Apple Store, I'd suggest Genius or if you have managerial experience, Store Manager.

I know the external drive HFS/NTFS issue has been posted extensively, but I've encountered a problem that doesn't seem to be addressed in any of the posts.
I have an external 80 gig HD that's been formatted as NTFS by a friend that had a bunch of video files to transfer to my Mac (10.3). I understand that NTFS is read-only on 10.3 and that's the limit of what I'm trying to do. I do not need to write to the volume, only pull this one batch of files off.
When I attach the drive to my Mac, it mounts instantly with no problem. Opening the drive reveals that 59 out of 80 gigs is available, which is about right for the files I know are on there. The strange part is that the drive reads "0 items" and nothing shows up in the drive window.
Can anyone offer thoughts on why the drive would mount properly, show the correct amount of space used, and yet show zero items? :confused:

I don't know if this is occurring here, but in many other instances of touting/scalping, people deliberately sabotage the auctions by putting in high fake bids - it's possible the highest of those isn't a genuine offer.

There is a minor difference - the new iMacs have an ambient light sensor which will provide ideal brightness whether you are in a dark or well-lit environment.
If you manually set the brightness, does it return? Perhaps the display was set too bright/dim for the conditions?
